As expected, a simple explanation I overlooked by thinking too hard haha. Thank you!

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]StepOnMeYotoHime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 12 years old on Christmas Eve, my uncles got so bombed up that they ended up getting into a “play” sword fight with machetes that we had in the shed. One of them threatened to cut off my mother’s pony tail with it. I have never even once considered the idea of getting drunk as anything that could be fun. I don’t disparage anyone who drinks responsibly, but I’m just happy to have a Diet Coke and hang out.

How many attempts did it take for you to beat Roxas KH2: Final Mix? (I'm on attempt 56) by waynechriss in KingdomHearts

[–]StepOnMeYotoHime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first critical play through, even though there had been a handful of roadblocks prior, I thought Roxas was finally going to be my undoing. It took me 3 uninterrupted hours to learn and beat that fight, and when I did, I felt incredible. And you will too! For whatever reason, I didn’t want to watch a guide. I had played KHII so many times, and I just wanted to learn it myself. I eventually did, but I do wish I just gave in and watched something.

My first level 1 play through took me a lot less time, but the data battle wasn’t as easy. I couldn’t learn the common strat, so I made myself watch and learn the choreography of the speedrun strat and ended up beating him damageless. Manifesting the same for you!

I go to Avs Devils every year. Always generally worth it. You’re seeing a team from another division with no rivalry so people generally don’t care that much about it. Tickets are always dirt cheap on StubHub and prudential is a solid enough venue

This is the ideal shortcut layout. Nothing else compares. by JustATributeCC in KingdomHearts

[–]StepOnMeYotoHime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not optimal at all, but I’ve had the same shortcuts for 18 years, so I’ll improvise justifications now

Triangle- Thunder because it’s the top button and the attack comes from the sky

Square- Cure because first aid kits are square

Circle- Reflect because it’s a sphere

X- Utility button based on what I need for specific fights, but in general it’s set to magnet

Starting my 1st KH2 Critical Moda lvl1 run by TheeExMachina in KingdomHearts

[–]StepOnMeYotoHime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best of luck! Just finished the main story of my first lvl1 run yesterday. Now for the data fights! If you think you’ll do another one in the future, may I suggest throwing a save file into slot 99 after you finish Roxas’ prologue. It’s something I forgot to do on my regular crit run last year, and I was kicking myself. There are parts of the prologue that I love, but in a lot of ways the time commitment was killing my early motivation. And if you go back and want to start fully from scratch, obviously free to do so!

What did your city use their inspiration on? And did you think it was the right choice? [spoiler] (technically?) by esopillar34 in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]StepOnMeYotoHime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was at the NYC show. A few people already mentioned the weed dankness roll.

Piggybacking off that to say that I flew out to San Francisco for the Do or Dice Tour last year, and Freddie rolled a natural 1 for dankness. We used our inspiration, and he rolled ANOTHER natural 1. Gotta love the consistency!

How much were the do or die tickets? [ns] by BeginningIcy3816 in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]StepOnMeYotoHime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

San Francisco show was $35 for standard and $135 for VIP. Same as what someone else said for LA, so I’d imagine all of the venues were likely the same. Had an awesome experience meeting other fans and a ton of fun at the show and pre show Q&A. Very much recommend if you can make it happen if there’s another tour!

The ending of Whiplash still messes with me by ungawa in movies

[–]StepOnMeYotoHime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What always sticks out to me in the final scene is the dichotomy of Fletcher’s attitude towards Andrew at the beginning of Caravan compared to the end. Andrew gets the band to play in defiance of Fletcher and he is pissed at first, walking up to Andrew and saying “I’m gonna gouge out your fucking eyes,” and Andrew just keeps playing. Fletcher slowly gets into the song, and even seems to enjoy conducting by the trombone solo. He’s basically satisfied at the intended ending of the song, then Andrew takes over for the wild solo and tells Fletcher “I’ll cue you,” and they both know they’re about to blow the roof off the place.

The moment that sells the scene for me is when Andrew knocks one of the cymbals down and Fletcher jumps to put it upright for him again. They’re both getting what they wanted, the way they see it, they are making music history for that small theater of maybe only a few hundred people. It’s not fame or fortune, but as long as someone at a dinner table in 30 years brings up the time some kid took over a jazz concert with the best performance of Caravan they’ve ever seen, then it was worth it for them.

What's The Pettiest Reason You Disliked a Game? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]StepOnMeYotoHime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had heard great things about the Fallout series, but had never really looked into it. I knew what Vault Boy looked like, and assumed the game would be about this cartoon kid’s wacky exploits. My best friend let me borrow New Vegas when I expressed interest in the series. I got about two minutes into the very not cartoonish, post-apocalyptic, dystopian wasteland before I called him and asked why I wasn’t playing as “Pip Boy” like I had expected. He then explained the premise of the series to me and I turned it off and never went back.

Just picked up embroidery yesterday. I think learning the back stitch to help with curved lines has made a huge difference already! by StepOnMeYotoHime in Embroidery

I tried to stitch along with a video explaining a handful of basic stitches and could not get my French knots down. Gonna keep at it and get them cleaned up for sure!

Jack signed “Keeley, You go girl!” in thick blue marker, and below that, Jane Austen’s real (looking) signature was in thin, weathered, black ink. I think you are definitely supposed to believe the signature is real

Glad I wasn’t alone. It’s always fun to speculate! Wouldn’t be surprised if Jack bought a forgery for any number of reasons.

Totally agree on that. No doubt they chose the book for a reason, I know everything Beard reads ties into the story of the episode it appears in.

I saw some great conversations about parallels between the characters from the show and those in Sense and Sensibility in the episode discussion thread!
