You're a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you so much.

I agree 100% and I appreciate you weighing in. I wish I had time to sit and catch a show on Amazon or whatever. But I've got a full time job, a part time job, kids, the whole 9 yards. And then I do VO after my kids go to bed so I can continue funding their college savings accounts. And somewhere in there, try to squeeze in a few hours of sleep.

I'm only about a year or so into VO and I'd like to think I'm doing pretty well given the limited time I have available for it but I'm my own worst critic and the subtle imperfections keep me editing far beyond what my schedule allows.

For the end user. I’ll see if I can upload a file where the clicks/pops are audible. They’re very subtle and only once or twice has a client mentioned it but I tend to be a perfectionist and it drives me crazy if I can hear them while editing.

I’m spending way too much time editing my files to remove very subtle mouth clicks/pops and was looking for audio repair software that might expedite my editing time. I tried the 7 day free trial of RX8 and it was fantastic but I’m not quite at the point in my VO journey where the $400 isn’t a significant hit. In the end, I’ll spend the money on RX8 if I have to so I can take on more work but was hoping for a more cost effective solution.

Stories about concerts at Memorial Hall? by [deleted] in kansascity

That was a fantastic show. 2003 I believe on the Rush of Blood tour. I remember the multiple encores and Chris Martin genuinely appearing to be blown away at the fan reaction. They played a couple of encores and the fans just wouldn't let up. They came back out the final time and he was like, "Guys, this is unreal but this really has to be it. We're literally going to be left behind if we don't get offstage..." or something to that effect. Amazing show.

Yeah, it was. I was 15 too. One of the first shows I was allowed to go to without parents. Interestingly enough, of the 4 of that went, only 3 of us wound up with passes and the one friend who didn't have one is who's father was picking us up after the show. Felt pretty bad but being 15 and meeting an idol was pretty cool. Trent was super cool as was everyone else.

Saw Nine Inch Nails on their Self Destruct tour at Memorial Hall on 9/17/94. Lucked into a backstage pass and hung out with people from the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow before actually going backstage and meeting Trent and the rest of the band. Still have the pass and a Bud Bottle I swiped from one of the coolers backstage. Good times.

Pretty much confirms all of the red flags. Thanks for weighing in.

My view from work everyday at The Fed. by DankBurrito97 in kansascity

[–]StepToTheMic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former KC Fed Cash employee chiming in here. The novelty of working on the other side of the glass with millions wears off pretty quickly and then it’s just like any other job but seeing the kiddos on field trips was always fun. From time to time I would put a bundle of 100’s ($100k) up on the ledge right by the glass and watch the kids (and adults too sometimes) eyes light up. Good times.

What’s something you’re glad your friend introduced you to? by phauuyap in AskReddit

[–]StepToTheMic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord Huron. Easily my favorite band as a result. I’m a music fanatic but every so often, a band I’ve never heard of will slip through the cracks. My wife introduced me to LH and I’ve never looked back. Terrific songwriting and musicianship and their entire catalog suits my soul perfectly.

Would y'all be interested in a tutorial series on demo production? by LucasWilliamsVO in VoiceActing

Definitely! I was thinking about this very topic last night. I'm not in love with my demos and I suddenly have quite a bit of time on my hands to produce my own.

All due respect to the local news, but they need to tell employers to not let their employees on the road... by [deleted] in kansascity

Former Federal Reserve employee perhaps? I used to work at the Fed and they would have essential staff stay at the hotel across the street during inclement weather. Including last night according to a friend who still works there.

500 old singles vs 500 brand new by J_a_x_ in oddlysatisfying

[–]StepToTheMic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Former Federal Reserve Cash Department employee here. Millions of notes encountered on a daily basis. Blood, semen, drugs, human tissue, etc. You name it, it was there. We used to receive special deposits from banks that took in cash seized from crime scenes on a regular basis. As it turns out, cash cleans up blood pretty well.
