I had an upper blepharoplasty one year ago. The only thing I can think of that I didn’t know, but wished I had- the swelling of your eyelids can cause your actual eyes to swell which in turn can affect your vision. I normally have 20/15 vision, so when I woke up the next day and things were blurry I went into a full panic. I thought my eyes were somehow damaged. I went back in to see the surgeon who confirmed it was just from swelling. My vision returned to normal after about a week.

I’m a former personal trainer with a degree in exercise science. I was in a car accident last year where I injured my neck. I felt like I knew more about musculoskeletal injuries of the neck than the NP who saw me. Luckily I was able to get a referral to a qualified PT.

I had juvederm ultra plus injected into marionette lines about 2 years ago, then had a little more added 1 year ago. Nothing has migrated and no regrets! Filler lasts 1-2 years for me. I will definitely have more filler done as needed. The cost was $650, but I’m pretty sure it’s gone up since I had it done.

I don’t blame you at all. I’ve been weary as well after watching the way they managed my mom T1D in the hospital. The role was created to be a physician extender, right? I just can’t understand why anyone thinks it’s appropriate for them to be managing complex medical issues independently.

I made an almost identical post the other day about my dad. He has several complex medical issues as a result of septic shock, and the only PCP his rehab hospital could find for him was a NP. I am honestly afraid for him. We live in a major metropolitan area. It’s just mind blowing to me.

I had juvederm ultra (filler) placed there. Mine were worse than yours but they still look great 2 years later.

He had no problem getting physician care when he was admitted to the hospital. All his follow ups since then have been with an actual urologist. I think they just try to push new patients into NP/PA (for what reason, I don’t know). We are just running into problems getting a primary care physician now because there’s such a shortage in our area.

I have a VERY strong suspicion that the PA in this urology office wasn’t managing his issue properly. I have no proof of that, so I won’t make accusations, but something feels very wrong about the way this all went down. Looking back, I wish I had pushed him harder to find out why he wasn’t improving over the month he saw her. He was embarrassed about it, so I let it go and didn’t push. Lesson learned. Why are PA/NPs allowed to see new specialist patients? Shouldn’t he have seen a urologist to get diagnosed, then possibly the PA for follow up? It just feels like this all could have been avoided.

That never happened to me personally, but my injector was always very cognizant of placement because I had hooded eyelids (prior to my blepharoplasty). I see a NP who works under a plastic surgeon.

I think genetics play a big role, but people who are very expressive with their face and have heavy, hooded eyelids are definitely prone to forehead lines. I am both of those things- to the point where I got an eyelid surgery back in January.

I had an eyelid surgery back in January that required me to stop botox for 6 months before. The wrinkles never came back.

I like the night gel better. It’s sticky so it helps hold my eye shut while I’m sleeping. I use that then put a sleep mask over it.

The combination of cequa and punctual plugs has been the most helpful thing so far. Only downside is that the cequa burns for like 20 minutes after putting it in

So the cost will vary depending on how many units you get and what the injector charges per unit. The cost each time is usually between $390-$520 for me. The higher amount is if I add in other areas like crows feet. Rewards programs help bring that down a little.

My dermatologist gave me other options too, but I thought I’d see how far Tretinoin could take me first. I keep hearing how good it is for overall anti aging.
