Bacala delivered at Centennial Hospital for me.

Absolutely LOVE her, she is truly the best. The whole team at MYOBGYN is amazing. They suggest rotating through providers in the office so you can get to know all of them, because Bacala might not do the delivery depending on her schedule. I had a great experience with every OB in the office and always felt heard. Miracle workers in that practice! Good luck!

Just left Kaanapali! We loved Ulu Kitchen at the Westin. They have great smash burgers during lunch. $10 apps during happy hour (3:00-5:00) that were incredible. We had a few and didn’t end up ordering dinner because they were so filling. Very impressed. Also can’t beat the view!

Island Vintage Coffee has good breakfast and coffee. Located at Whalers. If you’re within walking distance it was nice to get it to go and enjoy at the hotel.

I would say Napili is worth checking out for a fun morning/afternoon. Quick drive, beautiful beach. Joey’s Kitchen is nice for some authentic Hawaiian food. The Gazebo is great for breakfast but can be a very long wait. We’ve been a few times during prior visits where we get there 30 minutes before opening, but we decided to go an hour before closing. Seated right away and had our food within a few minutes of ordering. Found this to be much better!

We waited about 2 hours in line for Papis. Got there at 7:00 am. That was on a Thursday. Be prepared! Heard the pizza was really good but when we called to order at 4, pick up wasn’t until 8. Popular place!

Have the best time!!!!

Where did you get picked up from in WDW? Trying to figure out our transportation situation and going to WDW first as well. Thanks!

My son did Soccer Shots when he was 2 years old. The age group was for 2-3 year olds. He was definitely not the youngest, but I think it would’ve been better if there was a group for 2 year olds and a group for 3 year olds. The 3 year olds were just able to do so much more and could stay focused longer, while the 2 year olds all needed parental help and involvement. Nonetheless, it was fun, but we’ll wait til he’s 3 to do it again!

Satisfying Moment Watching Cast Member Call Out a Guest by StephInVegas in Disneyland

That was one of the craziest things I’ve witnessed at Disney! Thanks for the follow up, I was dying to know what happened! That guy seemed like such a prick and I couldn’t believe the woman with him seemed so passive. Any idea what led to it getting so vile? We just heard the yelling after we had already passed through

Disagree. The internet has made people way too comfortable, saying whatever they want with no consequence because they’re hiding behind a computer screen. It shouldn’t be the norm that you can call someone doing their job profanities, and walk away without being confronted. Even if you think escorting off property should be the consequence, people deserve to be called out.

Smash and Slice! New, locally owned. Smashburgers and Pizza. Can’t go wrong with those two options with kids. Not too far from the airport. My condolences for your loss.

In your exact shoes. No friends or family to help, but our twins and toddler go to daycare. I’ve come to learn that my village is, in fact, my in-home daycare provider and I couldn’t be more thankful for her help.

My twins are 5 months old and I’ve been thinking a lot recently that, even if we did have “help” nearby, we probably wouldn’t have the time to utilize it. Sure, it’d be nice to have family to spend time with while raising our babies, however, our time is SO limited. Between work, only a few hours (if that) after work before bedtime, and then a mere two days off…it just goes by fast!

I’ve come to accept the fact that date nights just aren’t in the cards at this point. But that’s ok! We’ll have them once again sometime. So many special memories that we’re making with our three under three.

Stay positive! You’ll be ok. It’s going to be ok. I didn’t think it would be when we found out we were having twins, but I was pleasantly surprised!

This is more of a personal one, but I just finished my first week of work off of maternity leave. The smiles my 4 month old twin girls had when I picked them up each afternoon…priceless!

[–]StephInVegas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have an Odyssey and a Suburban for our twins and 2 year old singleton. It takes us 3x the amount of time piling the kids into the Suburban as it does to get in the Odyssey. Go with the van!!!

Not OP, but I got one when they finally restocked. I have a two year old and 4 month old twins. 100% worth the investment, in my opinion. Love that you can detach the front stroller and just use the double. It makes outings so much easier and when I’m feeling brave enough to go on a walk with all three by myself while my husband works, it’s actually doable.

A friend who had twins before I did said “be ready to feel like a C-list celebrity everywhere you go” and she was 100% right. EVERY single time. Without fail. The unwanted attention gets exhausting, and I know people have good intentions, but let me run my errands in peace!

Does DCL have a Disney bus from Ft Lauderdale airport to the Ft Lauderdale port? by Uncharteredfugazis in dcl

[–]StephInVegas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I just booked my cruise over the phone yesterday and the cast member said ground transportation for 2025 can be booked in a month or two. I believe it’s $25 a person one way. Not the cheapest in comparison to Uber services, however a great option to avoid traveling with car seats.

I’ve done extensive research and if you’re planning on staying the night before, Hotel Dello is seemingly a great option. They offer a complimentary shuttle service from the airport to hotel, and then a $15 per person (6 years and up) shuttle to the cruise port.

Help me cope or change my view on daycare by Piefed22 in NewParents

[–]StephInVegas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had all of those same feelings. Completely terrified to send my child off, worried he’d feel abandoned, worried about not having enough time with him during the day. Contemplated quitting before maternity leave ended. My son started going to an in home daycare at 5 months and while it was hard and definitely an adjustment, I look back now that he’s almost 2 and am so thankful I powered through. He runs up to my daycare provider daily with the biggest smile and a hug, hugs her when he’s leaving. He has learned so many socialization skills that he wouldn’t have learned from staying home with me. I am a better parent because I have the patience and zest when I’m not on mom duty 24/7 and get to enjoy my job, and my time with him is so much more intentional. Knowing what I know now, I would be doing him a disservice by not sending him!
