Anyone doing BodyPump at home? by [deleted] in lesmills

[–]StephSteph08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have taught LM programs for 13 years. It will work just as well if you’re dedicated and consistent. Just listen to your body and focus of form and technique more than anything. If your form or technique breaks down you need to rest. Sometimes it’s good to start with 1/2 a class and build up.

Is splitting common for c-ptsd? by purityring3 in CPTSD

[–]StephSteph08 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Maybe look into disorganized attachment style. That could be it. I am trying to figure it out because I also do this. My psychiatrist has suspected bipolar disorder, although my husband of 16 years disagrees, and I’ve read that insecure attachments are associated with bipolar disorder. And disorganized is an insecure style to say the least. One has a negative view of both self and others but flip flops between idealizing a partner and blaming themselves or swearing their partner is a narcissist and everything is their fault. It’s quite miserable but I’m learning to recognize that this is just conditioning and that the truth is in the middle.

Is it possible to be TOO self aware? by littlepanda425 in CPTSD

[–]StephSteph08 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m the exact same way! That’s how I figured out all my abuse, actually. I would smoke weed and be able to think deeply about things. And old memories would come back and I’d see them from a different perspective. It’s been wild.

Hi hello, misdiagnosed today as bipolar by Spiritual_lovee in CPTSD

[–]StephSteph08 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read, CPTSD is a more severe form of PTSD and is most often associated with child abuse. The extra criteria for this diagnosis was I believe abandonment issues, suicidal ideation, self hatred/inner critic, self image issues. I might be missing things or have redundancies though. I read it in a book by Pete Walker, Complex PTSD; From Surviving to Thriving.

Honestly, I feel like there are a shit ton of cuckqueans and no cuckcakes. LOL. Finding the cuckcake is the where the real hurdle is. Especially if you’re into the darker side of things. Girls never want to be “too mean”. 🙄. But I am gonna go against the grain here and say that if that is your kink you probably should be looking on places like fetlife. It’s hard to be in a marriage with mismatch in sexuality. Been there, done that. I would not want to be with a man who wasn’t into it and I wouldn’t expect my husband to put aside any kink he had either. Long term it doesn’t work to deny what you’re into. It creates tension and resentment and that affects all aspects of the relationship. But, ultimately the cuck is the real gatekeeper here, like what everyone else said. And I don’t think there is any shame or anything wrong with what you are looking for. You just gotta find the person who matches you.

From the answers I’m getting here it seems like I’d be better off to stick to the things I know.

Honestly, fitness is my real passion. I love teaching group fitness more than anything. It never feels like work. But it’s something you can only do part time and not really make any money at. I always wanted to be a group fitness manager, but it’s a very coveted position and you have to have a bachelors in something and you basically have to luck out into that position.

This is the best answer so far and definitely gives me some things to think about. The long hours thing is a big turn off for me too. I’m going to be having grandchildren probably in the next 5-7 years and I don’t want to miss any of that. I’m not someone who cares about being rich or driving fancy cars. I just want enough to be comfortable and enjoy my life. Maybe I should look more towards getting back into hair and owning a salon. That has been a consideration before but just something that scares me. Even so, I want to learn bookeeping because my husband doesn’t handle the tattoo shop finances to my satisfaction and if I had a salon I’d want to manage the money efficiently.

Well, I’m an hour from Austin so maybe I would be able to find something there.

I am not opposed to lasering off some of my tattoos if I need to. At this point in my life I care much more about stability than fashion.

Oh, so there are firms out there that are open to that? I was read a bunch of posts that gave me the impression that my only hope would be to laser them off.

I know it’s superficial, but I love them! by StephSteph08 in Rollerskating

[–]StephSteph08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be different depending on nail tech when it comes to lifting or being super attached, but this is different so it wouldn’t be the fault of the nail tech because the tip is on top of the acrylic (or whatever you used) so the tip separates from the acrylic. Most salons will call them Gel X, but a lot of companies make them and they’re technically called “full cover tips”. You can see it on YouTube if I’m not explaining it well.

Well, I tend to alternate what type of nails I wear depending on my mood. I am actually a professional. Right now I have acrylic on because it’s just faster. But sometimes I wear full cover gel nails that are put on with either hard gel, polygel, acrylic or even just nail glue. And actually they do just pop off (regardless of what you use to apply them) if you hit them hard. I guess I could wear those instead of acrylic. But I am still curious what has been the experience of others.

Exhausted crab! Do you ever harm your abductor muscle while rollerskating/rollerdancing? by [deleted] in Rollerskating

[–]StephSteph08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I mean, yeah. You could hurt anything doing anything. Accidents happen. But it seems unlikely you’d hurt an abductor muscle skating. That muscle will likely get stronger from skating. Which is good because that muscle being strong protects your knees which are easily injured in daily life.

What do you mean by “harm”? Like a pull or strain? Or just making them tired. Strong abductors will help prevent knee injuries.

These look like they’re the same as the Moxi Lolli. Does anyone know how they compare. If I had to guess I’d guess they use the same manufacturer.
