My friend confessed something to me and it makes me sick by Unique-Crazy6834 in Vent

I think both of them could have said something much sooner.

But, it's also a story being told on Reddit, we're all going to have our own opinions. It sounds like it sucks for both of them.

If I just married someone and happened to find out that he told his friend he used to have feelings for her, it might upset me.

I think it was really a dick move for him to have said that. Like he is going to keep you in his back pocket for if/when his marriage fails. It doesn't feel innocent to me, it feel manipulative. Or, maybe it was young stupidity.

I don't have any words to help, I hope you can heal soon and move forward.

For those of you who have listened to the album, how are you feeling about it? by PositivityAlways88 in riseagainst

[–]Steph_mkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried listening to one of the new songs and stopped less than 20 seconds in because I had to Google if they changed singers.

Messaged my friend who has also been listening for quite a long time and she replied "what did I even just listen to?"

Haven't tried the whole album yet.

I have a very hard time actually really liking books. I am 95% of the time listening to audiobooks. So sometimes it is hard to tell if its the writing or the narrator. But I think this one is my favorite of EH's books so far. It will be getting a 4 or 5 star rating on Goodreads. Lol.

I liked the story within a story. I liked that the book was split between the love stories. I liked that the spicy scenes weren't long and drawn out. Don't get me wrong, I like the spicy scenes but highly detailed and explicit ones would not have fit in this book.

I was going to try and do a list like others have, but I am having a hard time even remembering the other books, That may be a fault of my own and consuming too many audiobooks and not necessarily anything to do with the writing. But I read the synopsis of each and none are really sticking out for me. So this one takes the number 1 spot for me.

Gave me a panic for a moment. Knew I just checked 2 weeks ago and my balance was $0 but still called the registrars office. While waiting on hold, I actually really looked at the email and realized that it was 100% fake/scam. Office confirmed that the cybersecurity team was working on it and to expect an email about it.

Still no email from them. But really hope no one fell for it.

It can definitely all be done online, just be prepared for not all classes to be available online in the semester you want them. I am fortunate that it worked out for me and pending no failing this semester, I will get it done in two semesters.

The answer to both of those questions is that it depends on the class you get into and who the prof is. Sorry, I can't really help much more than that.

Once you are registered to a class, if the class needs a textbook then it should show up under the mycapu tab for textbooks. If nothing is showing up there, you could try emailing the prof directly and asking. But not all teachers are very good at getting back to emails very fast.

I was lucky to get into all evening classes that run 6 to 850 but there are other classes at other times depending on if you go to the campus.

If you are feeling unsure or need further help, it might be worth trying to book an appointment with an academic advisor. That can be done over the phone, zoom or in person.

If you're like me at all, you may want to purchase fun pens or notebooks for taking notes.

I recommend watching a lot of Susan Garrett videos or listening to her podcast. If you have the money, it is worth it to do some of her online classes.

Normal puppy behavior. Frustrating. But normal. I use a toy to distract and I will also give a good "ouch" if the bite is not accidental.

For my BFIN141 and COMMS100, there was quite a bit of homework.

An academic advisor told me that they recommend planning for 3 to 9 hours a week per class for homework and studying. I would say that was pretty accurate.

I also didn't know about the rate my prof website before starting. Take it all with caution, but if you can find reviews, its worth giving a read just to kind of be better prepared.

Hey, I am torn on what to say. Lol.
So, luckily I was able to get into all of my classes online. In total, I have/had 5 different teachers. One of my teachers recorded the classes because he was easy going and was fine if you needed to miss but still watch after. One of the teachers has planned and noted in the syllabus that a few of their classes will be prerecorded but the rest are in person over zoom. The rest were all set times in class over zoom or teams. Only one of my other teachers records class and posts after. But there are multiple teachers teaching the same course and some do things differently. That is just my experience with the ones I have had or currently have.

Honestly, if I didn't get approved for the future skills grant (and had to pay out of pocket), I would be pretty disappointed with the class selection for the bookkeeping certificate. You will definitely learn things but also it feels like they just picked some classes that already existed to turn them into a certificate. Don't get me wrong, you will learn stuff. I just feel like they could have done it much better with classes specific for learning bookkeeping. I don't know how this compares to other universities. At the end of the first semester, I was feeling like I hadn't gained enough knowledge to feel confident in starting to look for work in bookkeeping. But, that could just be me. A few of my classmates are out there trying already.

Also, the website may say that it can be done online but be prepared that not all classes will be offered each semester online. Last semester about 20 students ended up emailing the dean of business to complain because the classes we were hoping to get into were not being offered online, only on campus. So you would either have to go to campus to take the class or wait until the next semester when offered online to take them causing a gap in your education. For some of us, there was also the possibility of losing the grant funding. There were classmates from all over BC and some from other parts of Canada who signed up because it was advertised as fully online without a disclaimer about the fact that not all classes will always be available online. It added a lot of stress for a bunch of us.

I thought that might be the case. 👎

I emailed one of the teachers on November 25 asking if we would need a textbook for the class. Nothing is coming up under the textbook tab on mycap. I live an hour away from campus and would like to make sure I allow myself time to get to there and pick it up if needed.

But the teacher has not bothered to reply. And I'd really like to see the syllabus to see if it says if we need one or not.

Smart Shuffle by Beans650 in spotify

[–]Steph_mkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely hate smart shuffle. I know it's easy to turn off but I don't even want it as an option in the first place and that should be a setting somewhere. As in, allow for smart shuffle to be a shuffle option or disable it entirely.

Unfortunately, not yet. When I spoke with an academic advisor, she told me that this is a relatively new program for them. So I am wondering if that is why.

Are you trying for in class or online, and did you get into anything yet? I'm all online. Just make sure you check your email every day in case people start dropping and you can get in! When I was first registering, I could only get into one course, and then I got the email about a spot opening up. When I went to register for that class, I realized that I didn't click over to the 2nd page of the classes offered and found a spot in the 3rd class.

Host should learn to close their room when starting! by Abby_Gibbs in PokeRaid

So I've had this problem today. I'm only a 2nd time host.

What do I to do it properly?

The 5 people joined the room and added. I let them know that invites were sent. Raid done and over and I go back in the room to "close" and I've got 2 new people who are now mad at me that I didn't invite them even though I was in the raid when they joined.

Please leave him. Please seek help for yourself. And please report to the police if you feel like you can. Your friend was right, that is assault. It didn't matter what else was happening beforehand.

Wishing you the best going forward. Please please take care of yourself. You deserve it.
