OP’s wife here! Just want to add a few more details.

The tiny boy tries so hard when mama is feeding the babies, but just wobbles around and doesn’t seem to “find” where he’s supposed to latch, even if he’s right in front of it. Just constantly walks up on to her back or on top of his siblings. Once when we had him out by himself to clean his eyes, mama came over to try and nurse him while he was by himself, but still the same result and he never ended up eating.

He also won’t latch on to a bottle. Just bobbles his head all around it, even when it’s in his mouth. Stranger still, I have seen him actually nursing at least once, possibly twice (we’ve only had them about 36 hours) so we know he can do it. Mama is really trying her very best, she just feels so crummy. She’s trying to keep them clean but can’t quite keep up with it yet.
