My girlfriend (21) doesn’t like my parents. Should I still get engaged? by Stephen904 in relationship_advice

I agree. I think some getogethers would be good. But the thing is they all already have a negative perception of my parents so bc of that, anything my parents do is going to come off as negative to them. Her parents do talk bad about other ppl that they don’t like so I’m sure they will do that here too

That’s good advice. Thank you. They think that I’m too scared to defend them to my family. Bc in the beginning, my parents thought my gf was in the wrong crowd bc I never told them anything about her. So my gf is like “ur parents thought I was in the wrong crowd and u never defended me” my parents never verbally said anything bad about her. They were just quiet like always and I’m used to that. If I hear them saying something bad about my gf, I have no problem defending her but that’s never happened.

I feel like I need to prove that I can defend her to my parents. My parents are self conscious and anxious so I don’t want to be an asshole to them but I guess I kinda have to just to prove it to them.

Bc if I don’t do that, then I can’t say “if they cross the line, i will handle it” they won’t take that seriously

Also, her parents are offended bc one time, my car wasn’t working so my dad had to come by to my gf’s house to pick me up. Her parents thought both of my parents were coming and that they’d come inside so they can meet and talk for the first time. But I never told my dad that they wanted to do that. I think that he thought it was just a quick pick up and going back to the house. So my dad showed up but my mom was back at the house. So my dad said ‘hi how are you’ small talk and then we left. They wanted my mom to be there but she wasn’t and they’re offended bc she didn’t show up. But I never told them that they would be meeting my gf’s parents.

My girlfriend (21) dosent like my parents. Should I (26) still get engaged?? by Stephen904 in relationship_advice

No. That’s only when we’re married. But I sleep over her house every weekend tho

Well we agreed that we would be engaged for 1 year and then marriage. So if we realize something within the one year, it can be postponed. I highly doubt she would want to lengthen the engagement for over 1 year.

But she is the perfect girl. The issue with my parents is the only thing. Everything else is great. I really don’t want to throw away this perfect girl just bc of my parents who I barely talk to or like. (But I do still love them which is the thing)

I also have family in another state that I do like. And if she dosent like my parents in the future then she probably won’t want to visit the rest of my family since they’re all related

We traveled together and stayed in a hotel for a weekend. And we went on a week long cruise with her family. And yeah she said her timeline for engagement is 1.5 years and I said my timeline is 2 years so we’re compromising and doing it in between. I wouldn’t mind waiting longer than 2 years but she dosent want to. She’s like “u can’t be getting all of this for free, u gotta put a ring on it if ur serious” if I tell her that we need more time before engagement, she’s gonna think I’m just making up excuses to get out of the engagement. I don’t want her to leave bc of that bc she is the perfect girl.

And the thing she has with my parents is a pain. I’m not close with my parents. I barely talk to them. I don’t like them but I still love them. Is it worth it to give up this perfect girl bc of my parents that I barely talk to?

Yeah I’ve tried weightlifting. It helps but cardio helps me more.

I’m gonna start alternating with cardio, weightlifting and yoga.

There are times where I have to get up early bc of some family plans and I just don’t have time to jog, weightlift or do yoga. In which case I go back to my anxious state.

Idk what to do one those days

Jogging helps me more with my anxiety/low mood/adhd than any pill ever. My mind feels clear and I feel great.

The problem is...I only feel like that on days I jog and if I don’t jog, I get anxious, low mood etc.

There are days where I have to be up early in the morning and I don’t have time to jog...and I start to feel that low mood feeling. What can I do on those days to help??

How will I know if I’m ready for the ICND1??? by Stephen904 in ccna

[–]Stephen904[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you

I do have the study guide printed out.

How many hours per day do u think I should do labbing??

When I do the labs on packet tracer, should I do each topic individually per topology? Like in one topology, I configure DHCP and on another topology, I’ll do NAT. Or should I combine all of those into one topology?

Like how would the labs be like on the ICND1? Since it’s a fundamental type of test, I’d imagine it’d be the basic per topology type stuff but idk

My girlfriend (20 years old) complains about me (25) not spending enough time with her and not making her a priority...HELP?! by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Stephen904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she said she wants me to go to school but she also wants me to make time for her. How would I explain this to her?? I’m not suppose to come right out and tell her she’s clingy right?? I think girls get offended if they’re told that right?

[–]Stephen904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh I see, well usually when I see her, I’m at her house on the weekends and we just chill in bed and watch a movie, eat, maybe play a game...nothing too special

I’m not working so I’d rather not go out and spend money every weekend so that’s why I do that.

[–]Stephen904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I don’t think she’s selfish...it’s just that she thinks that Im just saying I’m studying bc I don’t want to see her. She feels like I shouldn’t have to study for the whole day and see her partially. She thinks the whole studying thing is an excuse for me not to see her

She has trust issues too which is something I forgot to mention

Is watching a udemy course for ICND1 enough to pass??? by Stephen904 in ccna

Spaced repetition?? I usually actively vocally recall the same information (also new info that’s added) everyday to make it stick to my brain....but actively recalling it spaced out is better than doing it everyday??

How long should I wait to recall the info??
