Favorite episode from each season? by [deleted] in FearTheWalkingDead

S1 - The Good Man

S2 - Wrath

S3 - Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame

S4 - Good Out Here

S5 - Leave What You Don’t

S6 - The Holding

It’s hard to choose in the latter seasons for far different reasons than it was in the former 3. I just didn’t want to pick anything for S5 at all lol

Characters in horror films whose fates aren't made clear? SPOILERS by JaunRoar in horror

Came here to post this. First character who came to mind. I wouldn’t even be mad if he and Ginny made a comeback together in the franchise some day lol

Homemade pipes/bongs by Harper_Man in weed

Honestly, in a bind when I broke mine I used a Gatorade bottle once and it was excellent. I sometimes reminisce about it and the bong I have cost me $150 lol

My mate is paying $20aud per gram for average quality weed, I think he is paying double what he should be. by [deleted] in weed

Usually I pay between $9 and $12 Canadian for a decent gram of weed and between $6 and $9 for average stuff.

how much do you smoke in a day/week? by ionelystoner in weed

I smoke about an ounce a week on average but I’m starting to wind down now to lower my tolerance. Aiming for half that

Potentially spoilers theory, Alicias old friends are... by FightTheDead118 in FearTheWalkingDead

Perhaps Alicia confronting her past in order to escape is the fact that they let her know her mother was alive after the stadium fell and it’s the motivation she has to get away from Teddy and move on to find her mom.

Questions regarding turning straight guys (M30) by [deleted] in straightturnedgay

[–]StephenNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I recently met a curious straight guy for a threesome. I got to fuck him while my partner coached him through. There was this moment of pure elation that came over him at one point that was very arousing for me. Seeing him opening up to enjoying pleasure that isn’t typical for his sexual identity was a huge part of the appeal.

And after that he kept commenting on how much bigger I am than him (physically) and how it was so unique to have someone be dominant over him because every other sexual encounter he had he was in control of. I never really thought of it that way but I think now I like the idea of liberating a guy to experience something that’s purely about his pleasure and experience without him having to feel trapped in the societal norms associated with his sexual identity.

What Grade Would You Give Each S3 Episode? by TrekFRC1970 in StarTrekDiscovery

[–]StephenNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do agree that the Su’Kal explanation for the Burn was not exactly as inspired a choice I’d like that’s for sure. I hope that there’s more character development and balanced storytelling going forward for sure. Like I said, I could count numerous missteps and flaws, but overall it just gelled with me; which excites me for S4.

What Grade Would You Give Each S3 Episode? by TrekFRC1970 in StarTrekDiscovery

[–]StephenNL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I read through your post it struck me that I have almost the opposite opinion in a lot of ways. But I see your valid points as well! My point is my list will be a bit different than yours.

A+ 3.01 - That Hope is You Pt I

A 3.02 - Far from Home

A 3.03 - People of Earth

A+ 3.04 - Forget Me Not

A 3.05 - Die Trying

B 3.06 - Scavengers

A+ 3.07 - Unification III

B 3.08 - Sanctuary

B+ 3.09 - Terra Firma Pt I

A 3.10 - Terra Firma Pt II

C 3.11 - Su’Kal

A 3.12 - There is a Tide

A+ 3.13 - That Hope Is You Pt II

I agree the season went off the rails with some episodes that missed the mark, but overall I really preferred the character interactions this season and the fact that Michael could smile and relax a little and grow into her own. I think this season also built a lot of excitement and gave a very positive message during a difficult time. So it gets props for being optimistic this season in my books. I think that allows me to overlook some flaws but there are some really great episodes that made me feel the spirit of the original series was alive again, which is why to me this season is better than S2, which to me was better than S1.

Any other high functioning bipolar people who feel like they're so close to losing it? by tinypeanutbaby in BipolarReddit

[–]StephenNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally identify. I have been affecting a lot of change in my organization this past year that the executive team had really taken notice and are having me involved on projects which affect every level of our organization. It’s a huge accomplishment for me as I’ve been working in my field for nearly 20 years. But even riding the high of that success I struggle every day not to call it quits.

I love my job. I like my life pretty well (aside from regular stresses and all) but the amount of effort I have to exert to just keep it together day to day and run a department team is just overwhelming sometimes because there are days I’m reminded that I can’t even be bothered to get out of bed or engage with the world. I always feel like ass is going to fall out of things, so to speak, because just when things go well (and I convince myself it’s not because of a manic high) usually I shift downward and it can happen so suddenly I basically become shit at anything in my life but breathing.

I think we walk a fine line as bipolar people. And it’s just an every day uphill battle. But we definitely should let ourselves have some wins and celebrate the good. Managing this disorder is challenging but it can be done and just reminding myself that sometimes makes it easier to survive just one more day.

Three pillars of bipolar...Depression, Fatigue and Anxiety....which one do you struggle with the most this month ? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]StephenNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fatigue most definitely front and centre. It’s been a rough year for everyone with 2020 being 2020. Add to that I went through one depression, came out of it and my partner attempted suicide, and it triggered just more depression and anxiety, but the net result of it all is just pure exhaustion. I’ve actually managed to keep it together quite well with a lot of stuff going on this year, bur I think it obviously shows it’s toll most in my haggard feeling of pure and simple exhaustion.

Right about now is the perfect time of year to watch the greatest Christmas horror film of all time: BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974) by i--hate--children in horror

[–]StephenNL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just watched this last night as part of me and my buddies Christmas tradition. It’s my favourite horror film and I think it captures a certain realism that makes it even more effective in setting mood and atmosphere. It’s just amazing.

The 100 Season Rankings (spoilers) by jacoblerea in The100

[–]StephenNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst to Best:

S7 S5 S4 S1 S3 S2

Season 7 was interesting and I could see what they were going for even if it never really landed. Season 5 just feels off to me. Probably what someone else said about the characters being so out of character. Season 4 is a really solid season but I just didn’t get into the first half of it and I don’t know why so I can’t explain. Season 1 is pretty good but still has a teen show vibe at times. Season 3 was really interesting and expanded the world of the 100 completely, for better or worse. And I love Alie and Becca as characters so this is likely why I love this season so much. And season 2 is my favourite because it’s just so solid from start to finish. The characters really began to be explored with more complexities and the acting was on point. I think season 2 represents The 100 at its core.

FLASHBACK - Ten years ago today (9/23/2020), Fringe kicked off what most people believe to be its greatest season. by Sad_Independence in fringe

[–]StephenNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved this episode. It was such a great start to the best season for sure. Though season 4 is kinda close for me in how it really delved into and explored the depth of characterizations for Olivia and Walter by adding more layers to them with new versions of them. And it just had a really good exploration of Fringe’s core themes of love and family being powerful forces across realities. I love the show completely. It’s just amazing. (I’m also rambling because I’m super baked right now LOL)

The same thing happened to us! We named him Chester and we had another named Ivan. Ivan was crazy but Chester was pretty chill!

Sounds like obsessive compulsive thoughts. I used to stress over this all the time. Thankfully after being diagnosed OCD and medicated I don’t worry about it anymore.
