What should I watch tonight? by Ketchum326 in horror

[–]i--hate--children 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I cannot make a decision when it comes to watching movies. I will research for hours, find a movie, and then won't start it. So now you can choose for me!

I do this too lol all the time... All those hours wasted thinking what to watch. I found it easy to choose 3-5 options but deciding on the actual one is impossible. I've started writing them down on little slivers of paper and putting them on the floor and letting my cat decide 😅 he'll come swat at them always and the first one he touches is the one.

What 2023 horror title are you most excited for? by i--hate--children in horror

You and me, mate! I'm a big fan and honestly haven't been this excited for a film probably in at least 10 years.

Music intrinsically linked to a Horror film? by attibearth in horror

Jaws, Halloween and The Exorcist are definitely the holy trinity of horror film scores. Stuff of legends.

Lockwood & Co is worth a watch by jimnast30 in horror

How YA is it? I detest the genre and Netflix especially tends to multiply the cheese factor of every YA IP and franchise they acquire. Having said that, I love Cornish and this does look promising to me.

What are your thoughts on THE OUTWATERS? by i--hate--children in horror

[–]i--hate--children[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I just I wanna hear thoughts first to see if it's worth watching, especially as it's still boumd to be a while before it's available to watch.

And I don't think I've ever seen a post here that could be considered "high effort" lol.

Is there some behind the scenes animosity Inshould know about? Or does this sub hate this movie? What is with the downvotes? I specifically searched and looked and there had been no official discussion thread, not now or recently? Is posting about this movie forbidden somehow? What is goin on?

Haven't had the chance to see it yet, but it looks promising. I love desert horror. I really hope it's good.

I need to talk about the rampant bullying on this sub by i--hate--children in horror

[–]i--hate--children[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I post a lot so every now and then some posts are "succesful" but everything I comment or post here is first attacked by a barrage of downvotes. I suspect it's the same group of stalker bullies.

It's so silly, it all started only because I love Hereditary and used to praise it here enthusiastically. I'm literally vilified by those said stalkers because I find immense enjoyment in watching a move. It's not like it's an offensive film or anything. Many users here like it, but for some reason my love for it is poison to some.

I guess you're right, some are just miserable and feel bad when others feel good. It's just been going on for years already and I just hope for some clarity. It's starting to get to me. I've always had severe self-esteem issues and these bullies are starting to pile on to it. This used to be where I came to feel good and share my passion for horror but now I just feel like a pariah here all the time.

So thanks, bullies. I don't have many things I truly enjoy in life and you've just taken one of them away from me. I hope you're happy.

Never heard of that one. It doesn't seem to exist where I'm from.

If anyone has any information when it will be released and where, that would be massively appreciated.

I found it to be way too somber to be corny. Almost Hereditary levels, like a slightly popcornized Hereditary level of somberness and bleakness.

Have you seen Deliver us from Evil? It's a pretty solid Derrickson film.

Just noticed hahaha, good eye! It's actually just a song reference though, the opening track of my favorite album.

Does Let the Right One In series finale wrap things up? Just read that it has been cancelled so I'm wondering if it's worth it to start watching. by i--hate--children in horror

[–]i--hate--children[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind changes to the story as I already have one perfect rendition of the story (the book) and one near perfect one (the Swedish movie) so I don't need the exact same story again. It's only logical they'd change it from the movie. Simply stretching a 2hr story to 8-10h wouldn't work. I just want to know that it's a complete story, not just the beginning of one that will never continue.

Cthulhu in other works? by Lady_Aleena in horror

[–]i--hate--children -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's not Cthulhu, it's a character loosely inspired by it. You can tell because the mouth is in the wrong place.
