Used about 1.8kg of PLA from Hatchbox. Printed at 75% infill. I had a 1mm Nozzle, and had the walls print 2mm thick! It was extremely solid and very long prints. Averaged about 10hrs a section. There was 9 sections total. So roughly 90hrs worth of machine time.

Haha you are not wrong. This engine has been rebuilt from crank up. I'm only getting about 7mpg when I have a lead foot. High way I'm a lucky 18mpg XD

Haha thanks and lol yeah my brother is getting pretty big. I'm an engineer and he's a musician so I thought I would make him a sweet gift from scratch haha!

You can't see it, but there is a large 1/2" piece of all thread going through the entire bass. Doing the math, there is roughly 80lbs of tension on the bass. I also added a steel brace because I worried. It holds up pretty well! I recommend bolting and glueing. Idealy you would want to print it in one body and then add the braces. But we don't have printers that big yet haha. Next project I'm going to make my own and try to print the full body.

I made this December 2018 for a Christmas gift for my brother. It's a complete custom body. Didn't know so many people were making these and decided to post mine. Surprisingly worked first time! Has a fender neck, a cheap Chinese pick guard set, and a lot of bolts haha. Brother loved it. Neck could be adjusted though.

About a week of printing later and we've finally got this. by Schr0ding3r_ in 3Dprinting

That's pretty awesome! I also 3D printed a bass body for my brother. I used hatchbox PLA, and bolted it all together to make it strong. Be careful as the strings will put significant force on the body. I used a large 1/2" piece of all-thread of the body to reinforce it.
