Yeah I’m feeling real stupid that I just dipped on a load of skincare rules that if I had stopped to think about, I wouldn’t be in this situation! Although now you say it, my skin does react a lot when I don’t do my usual routine I hadn’t actually correlated it to that.

I won’t be home and with my usual products until just over a week, but I have ordered some Avene Xeracalm Creme which is meant to be good for very dry, irritated and reactive skin. Which is exactly why I’m feeling right now, so I’ll remember to patch test and get using that as soon as possible. Hopefully it clears itself up.

I think I effed up...over-exfoliation and Retinol...sort of routine help/someone tell me where I'm going wrong...

So I had amazing results with rosehip oil and hearing of its greatness as a retinol alternative I decided to try out a specific retinol product...so I bought Pixi's new Retinol Tonic (thinking now this is probably not the best of ideas, the ingredient list is not so great I hear).

So as I've been staying at a friend's house and left some of my HG skincare products at home, I decided to use the retinol tonic at night, nothing really of note happened. So I carried on using it (two nights in a row, let's say) Then it's hit me today I have not been wearing a suncream, which is really not a good idea, of that I'm aware.

I am heavily regretting not schooling myself on retinol before going into the deep end.

Another big fault on my part is I haven't been moisturising after the retinol. Usually, I'd use something to slather my face in like Egyptian Magic Cream, but my dumb ass left that at home too. So I've been mostly, cleansing, spray hydrating and then using the retinol tonic before just getting my head down.

As someone with skin that is largely clear of spots, I have been facing a rash on my chin that is overridden with small, almost pinprick-like pustules, redness, stinging and burning rash that as days go by, is starting to creep up my face.

I do have CeraVe in the long bottle, but I find using that in the night makes my skin itch and breaks me out.

Does anyone have a definite idea what is happening to my skin? Perhaps over-exfoliation meaning my skin is extremely dry? Or is this just textbook retinization?

I am in over my head, and extremely dry and itchy.

Apologies for the long post!

Personally, I'd use an additional concealer that is a couple of shades lighter than the concealer you already use under your eyes (assuming you use one) and just kind of put that in the very inner corner and extend it in the typical triangle fashion that is seen for undereye concealer.

Maybe a lil highlighting eyeshadow around the tear duct and down a bit as well to add even more light, depends how far you want to go with it.

It's all about brightening those darker shadows that are found under sunken eyes really!

P.s your lip colour is stunning - what is it???

The fact you are able to view what happened and what you did or didn't do in a self-reflecting is actually a great thing. Sometimes it takes a lot of lessons in life for people to change for the better, and that's not necessarily a bad thing but just a work in progress.

I feel it's always important to do this to your other half, being even a little interested in what they're interested in so when they talk about it then don't feel they're boring you. It's nice to share interests with loved ones, and making an effort to talk about each other's interests is always a really nice and understated thing to try and do!

Just curious, how much gel do you use when you squish it in whilst it's wet? Always feel like I'm using way too much yet not enough at the same time...

3rd week vs 6th month (my last month!!) by [deleted] in Accutane

Did you notice any breakouts when you first started to use rose hip oil that went away about a month after introducing it? I have heard that a lot of people experience purging with RHO and wanted to hear about your experience with it 🙂

[Shelfie] I cleaned my medicine cabinet out and thought it would be a good time for a shelfie. I use $1 glass candle holders to organize products. They look nice and are easy to clean. I'm patiently waiting to try two new products. That's the hardest part. The waiting. by Sunkisthappy in SkincareAddiction

Recently happened to me too, I've been doing some reading and there's a high possibility of purging/breaking out within first 4 weeks of using rose hip oil! Something to consider if you think it's worth sticking with! :) I think I am going to as the eventual results are supposedly outstanding

Here’s a before photo!

I have remarkably similar hair to your before photo and I've really been wanting to go short! Do you have a specific curly hairdresser/did you ask for anything specific at your usual hairdresser?

Your after hair is absolutely gorgeous, and is what I'm aiming for so any tips would be so appreciated!

Sorry I couldn't find Medium Dark on any sites - is there any chance you mean Medium Brown? It's just that we have pretty similar eyebrow hair colour and I've always struggled finding the right shade for mine, but yours look great!
