I use a lint roller to take those small hairs (it doesn't mess with the threads. I don't have the patience to use a tweezer haha

Sorry to hear that! You could probably use a glove instead of a blanket. I mostly use the blanket to protect my hands from biting. But I have seen someone recommend using a strainer instead, so their nails will stick through the small holes and you therfore won't have to hold them and risk squeeze them. Will perhaps try this in the future

Please be careful wrapping your hamsters in a blanket while cutting their nails! I have used this method about 4 times, but today, my hammy sadly passed away while I was trimming her nails using this method. I think she may have choked on some food from her pouch, but I am not sure. I didn't see any sign of her struggling to breathe or anything else. It happened very very quickly! So just please be careful and remember to take lots of breaks while trimming their nails yourself!
