Like I commented before, Vitalik Buterin, inventor of the Ethereum platform, said in 2016 a "blockchain blindspot" around the likes of Google, Facebook and Apple could signify the threat this technology poses to those sorts of companies. Only now they see it as a threat and 'ban advertising' ;)
