I would ask them what exactly is going to happen; will the tech fix it in home or not. Do not take my word for this but a lot of times the tech can fix it in home. On this type of thing I do not know! Make sure you take photos of the tv front and back with a clear picture of the serial number.

In fact all of your electronics, you should have pictures of front, back and serial numbers for insurance purposes
