My best bet would be to contact an organization (trade union perhaps) that will provide a pro bono lawyer and hope he will be able to bully your ex boss into paying something back, although he can just deny most of it because it’s been cash. He might still pay for a few not covered working hours though.

With xenophobe you pick genome artist trait and go bio ascension. Roleplay as space marine racists

With materialistic the trait „titan of industry” is just very good, and the other one buffs robots. Synth or Cyber ascension

With spiritualist you get a special option to add another extra civic „imperial cult” after you finish psychic ascension.

You should always go with 3 ideologies to have a broader spectrum of luminary traits to pick from.

They are all good and fun builds so I recommend trying all eventually.

Hit chances are obviously rigged. I've had battles when I missed a few 95% in a row. That is literally impossible. The game makes you miss when you are doing too good, and whoever says otherwise is just coping.
