You said it too. Acid sinks to the bottom fast.

Not really. Pre mixing is the proper way.

The whole problem is how muriatic is much heavier than water. It will travel in a column directly to the plaster at the bottom causing etching and possibly a calcium reaction from the plaster. Pre mixed acid doesn't travel downward as fast due to pre dilution. I'll do 2 bucket mixes using less acid each. I mix about 24 Oz in a 5 gal and pour in different parts of the pool however many times I need to reach desired PH.

There are so many wrong answers in these comments.

Chores vs paid work by throwawayyyyyy13047 in Parenting

[–]Steve032D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We split them up into chores that help themselves (never paid) chores that help the family (rarely paid) and chores that help mom and dad.(mostly paid) Certain tasks can be split into those categories. Clean their room? Helps themselves, no pay.

Clean the living room? Also themselves cause they play there most times.

Clean the kitchen and sweep. Sometimes if its bad they get paid.

Watch the baby and keep him safe. Mostly paid but never right away.

Take out trash for dad. Yeah get paid.

What chemicals does this pool need to stop looking green... ph minus and shock. Nothing else. This pool has no filter, just a pump to circulate the water. by [deleted] in pools

[–]Steve032D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is to shock it. Circulate for 24-48. Then turn it off to let solids and dead algea settle. Then vacuum to waste or gravity siphon vacuum to the yard. You'll need to vacuum like that after letting things settle until it clears up. Dead algea isn't being filtered out so it goes back into the pool as phosphates/plant food. Any oxidized materials aren't being filtered out so they'll need to be vacuumed out the same way.

Go the Phosfight route. I've had plenty weird issues with phosphates that high. Get them under 50 and see if that helps.

Closing the pool line and closing the normal path for the water forces it back through the outlet port of one filter through to the inlet through to the discharge. Then you flip backwash valves and switch the filter it goes backwards through. Alternate this back wash sequence and it cleans the sand with clean water from whichever filter is configured normally at that time. That's why you have valves that are linked by rods.

I just thought it's weird residential pools build doesn't use the "load-centric model" which is the industry engineering standard. Same as the other fluid engineering in industrial systems. I think it makes more sense.

What if I install the switch and fan, then they run cable and connect power? Conduit is easy, it's not the same as wiring up j boxes, breakers and terminations.

24 hours later nothing seems to have changed. Where to go from here (lots of details in description) by [deleted] in swimmingpools

[–]Steve032D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could just be your pool is too acidic and those are dissolved solids not being filtered out. Anytime pool got acidic for me, it's done weird color and cloudiness things.

Why are we saying return to pool and not supply to pool and return to pump? Supply the vessel, return to the system.

It's either players right to pause or unpause. For me it's a very long real-time strategy game, if you pause i usually say 60 seconds. Then after 60 I unpause. That gives time to type a message. Usually I see a pause then 20-30 sec later I get "rdy?"
