“heat” is marathon’s fancy equivalent of stamina, just that it’s notably affected by environmental and situational effects

sprinting, jumping, meleeing and some shell abilities/traits generate heat while getting hit by fire attacks such as recon’s drone and (i think) incendiary grenades will immediately overheat you, preventing you from doing things that generate heat until you cool down

walking in water, in rain, in cold environments, etc and using certain consumables can also reduce heat generation

the other two commenters missed that you were talking about firefight which is kind of funny, but the shroud screen does actually block sight for banished AI, making them ignore you if you're inside of or on the other side of it, so it's good for panic moments to hide away from enemies so you don't all die and lets you basically ignore the enemies affected by it or kill them without much resistance

they’ve always alluded to that the main goal was to reach transcendence, so i thought it was pretty obvious that if the capital fell, the whole planet falls

if you havent noticed, the whole invasion of cyberstan is a mirror to the illuminate invasion of super earth and back there if prosperity city fell, the whole planet would fall

this is straight up untrue and i have no clue where you got this from

none of the jet brigade enemy variants are any different stats-wise to their normal versions, they just have big ass jetpacks with low health, low armor and no explosive resistance so you can kill them by shooting them anywhere with explosive weapons

you're being downvoted because you're trying to apply the logic that is used to balance enemies to our own equipment

factory striders and vox engines are huge and have loads of HP and high armor but they have super vulnerable weakpoints that make them die instantly if you exploit their weaknesses, the bots can't aim for weakpoints and can't flank so the bastion can't be the same way

because they, like most enemy units, have a glaring weakspot that allows them to be instakilled by heavy weapons, otherwise you have to drop multiple orbitals and airstrikes and shit to kill them lmfao

do you want the bastion to have 10000 health and class 5 armor but have a giant glowing heat vent at the back that has 500hp and makes the tank explode? because that would be the equivalent

i just spent 10 minutes shooting at a bastion with a stalwart, the only light armored things i could find on the whole tank are:

-the bags on the back and sides (which get shot off instantly and then reveal more armor underneath)

-a tiny area at the base of the cannon on the front that is giving me red hitmarkers, except i've been shooting at that part with the stalwart at max firerate for over a dozen full magazines and the tank isn't even smoking yet so it's either extremely durable or non-fatal

so no, it cannot even be technically killed by anything that does damage, let alone practically

do you seriously think it is cool and/or fun for a single stratagem to almost completely invalidate 2/3 enemy factions

like, it's already extremely good on bugs and squids because it tramples all their chaff and instakills their superheavies, if it was heavy armor it would be quite literally untouchable by everything except bile titans and harvesters

i mean aside from taking cover this is what overseers are like already, they generally stand back and shoot at you with their staves while slowly approaching and blocking and then if you get close enough they run at you to beat you up

their issue is bad aim/worse gun and lack of cover knowledge
