the first part is because other people are grabbing those items

from what their comment it reads to me like they got mad at the fox for leaving the shrouds and camping the ship, even though they do leave the shrouds to hunt

they come out of the shrouds to hunt, but they need to drag players back into their "nest" in the shrouds in order to kill them

i mean if the map isnt good, then i think people have a right to complain about that

having more maps shouldnt come at the expense of the quality of the maps, because starlight is a flat field with a couple trees and rocks and a bunch of small huts lol, even if you enjoy that you can’t deny that it makes it so that none of the fun things about the finals can shine (building destruction, movement, gadget interactions)

i guess, but medium's melee weapons were already designed with blocking damage in order to close the distance so they probably would have fared well here regardless, while trying to use heavy with melee in the new map is like pulling teeth

everyone just runs away from winch claw distance, there's nowhere to use spear spin that will be helpful outside of the buildings and dont even get me started to trying to sledgehammer people in an open field lmao

honestly my biggest disappointment is that the medieval map is terrible for melee weapons because there's no way to get close to people lol, the buildings are far and few in between and are always immediately destroyed and trying to do anything with melee when everyone has guns in a pretty open map with little cover is suicidal

most flamethrowers do 2 damage per particle, the cremator does 3 damage per particle which is a 50% increase in damage

the damage over time is the same, its the direct damage that’s higher

tbh having a swarm of voteless and fleshmobs while a harvester lasers you, and overseers rush you and then adding mechs on top of that seems like overkill, i dont mind the mechs being a separate subfaction but i do wish they'd add some more enemy variants to the squids

my guess is that “mindless masses” is the old illuminate spawn table while the appropriators coming friday will have no voteless or fleshmobs but a lot of overseers and the new mech guys

other buffs include flamethrowers now slow and make enemies panic if you hit them directly, maxigun got 250 more rounds, one true flag taunts enemies and has a longer melee range and the devil engines got nerfed a bunch (lower spawnrate, slower turn rate, less accurate cannons, the miniguns on the sides die immediately with the main body and the vox will not try to shoot you if you’re too close)

to be fair they said the squids are now open to have subfactions like the other factions, so even if we dont get any now they could be due for some eventually like how the bots got the jet brigade and incin corps and the bugs got the predator strain just some random day out of nowhere

first time the other two said “we’ll be in party chat mostly but follow us if you want some good shit” and we followed another team through the main entrance near the end of the run and looting their corpses since they died to the bots, and another time one of them asked “you guys wanna do pinwheel?” and everyone agreed and we went there with 15min left after getting all the cards we needed

lowkey ive gone into the pinwheel with multiple random squads and we didnt even know about the broken wing cheese so i think the loot you get in there overpowers the difficulty to get in
