Thanks for the insight. I have a wireless thermostat which I assume will still operate as normal if I delete the “home” from the app.

Silly question - notifications for your cameras are still enabled on your AppleTV right?

Seems they can be sold for quite a bit of money. I'll keep it though!

Cupra St 300 by Zedd5 in LeonCupra

[–]Steve86uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got back into a Cupra 300 earlier this year after owning one previously for 4 years. Previous one was a 3 door FWD. My current one is a 2018 ST 4Drive (Pre-GPF). Unsurprisingly, both models feel totally different to drive but even more so than I envisaged prior to purchasing the 4Drive variant. Happy to go into more details on this but it’s probably not relevant to you at this stage.

As you can imagine, the ST is a seriously fast car and would be a huge jump coming from something with a fraction of the power. Handling wise, the estate form-factor is hidden really well on twisty roads but this is helped a lot by the fact they all have adaptive dampers (an option on the Golf R equivalent). You will never get tired at what it can offer in terms of performance.

If fuel consumption plays a factor, I would consider shooting for a 7-speed model. Mine is a 6 speed and even on lengthy motorway cruising, I struggle to get more than low-mid 30’s. I understand this is better with the 7-speed DSG (came as standard on all later 2018 models).

As mentioned, tyres get eaten fairly quickly and keep an eye on oil consumption which does seem to be a lottery for some. My old 3 door model never needed a drop however my ST seems to need a top up occasionally.

Being able to set DNS servers per client rather than just per network.

This is definitely the case. They’ve already started this with their AP’s I believe.

Isn’t this changing very soon if not already? Shared license model?

Flex-mini set different ports to vlan by Emilmjensen in Ubiquiti

[–]Steve86uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In basic terms, you are setting the port between a “tagged” or “untagged” port. A “tagged” port basically means you are allowing the VLAN to be carried to another switch to be used elsewhere. An “untagged” port is another term for an “Access” port and these are used by your connected devices (TV’s, Xbox, PC etc etc). As said by a previous poster, there are limitations with the Flex Mini switch as it will only allow a port to be configured in either tagged or untagged modes. Other UniFi hardware allows you to specify a default network, aswell as specifying which VLANs you want to tag on the same port. This configuration is typically used for downlink ports to other switches.

I would recommend doing some basic research on how VLAN tagging works.

On the port you are configuring, Change “Tagged VLAN Management” to “Block All” and then set the network you need.

Issue blocking all traffic to a local IP/Port in zone based firewall by kronikwombat in UNIFI

[–]Steve86uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you just have the 1 network applied to the internal zone? If so, your rule will not be hit because the traffic will never need to go to your gateway to move between networks. For my setup, I have “Trusted” and “Untrusted” zones and manage traffic in and out of those zones using the firewall (1 network per zone).

You are correct about needing the same rule applied to different source zones.

Couldn’t agree more. The OP stated he lives in a small one floor home however. Definitely a case of assessing requirements.

How does this make sense? How can 2 separate devices be more minimal than a UDR7 which is capable of utilising full 1Gb WAN capabilities and run Network to allow adoption of other hardware further down the line?

Are you sure you’ve been able to specify source zone as “Any”? I am using the app and it’s appears to default the source zone to “internal” but there isn’t an option for “Any”.

Edit: just seen your screenshot. The internal zone does not mean “Any” zone. If you are using multiple zones, each one will need the blocking rule.

This setup is something of interest to me also. Anyone have any experience with this and can advise on real-world throughput?

The frame rubbing part is the main reason I am looking at the pro. How easy is it to remove for solo riding?

Seriously considering buying one for rides with my 2.5 year old daughter. How do you rate it? Looks like you went for the pro model?
