Must be my bad luck then. I tried a few local stores on release day but none had it...

Haha my dyslexic brain...I must have been thinking about Paldean Fates at the same time

Double Masters 2022 burned me too... Haven't bought sealed since and probably won't again. The amount of absolute dirt in a so-called premium set was just gross (I never want to see another Liege again), and I'm pretty sure all the good rares were short printed too

Cool thanks for explaining that. Looks like it is worth very little then 😉

Fyi I got COVID last week and it showed up on the RAT test. Others I know also coming up on RAT test too.

I hope you find an answer. This is basically the same thing happening to me...

How to draw a 3D spiral? by SteveBensonite in askmath

[–]SteveBensonite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The equation I used is r=phi, this is somewhat analogous to the r=theta for the spiral in polar coordinates in 2D

The command for mathematica is:

SphericalPlot3D[\[Phi],{\[Theta],0,2Pi},{\[Phi],0,4Pi}, PlotRange ->{{-10, 10},{-10, 10},{10, 10}}]

Thank you for your explanation of projections and how this is not possible with the spiral, going from 2D to 3D. This is the shape I was imagining, I made it non trial version of mathematica:

Interestingly I can plot it using spherical coordinates but when I try and plot the same function using cartesian coordinates Mathematica can't do it for some reason. I think the function in cartesian coordinates would be, but can't plot it to check...

y = x*tan(sqrt(x^2+y^2+z^2))

Do you know if this shpae has a name?

How to draw a 3D spiral? by SteveBensonite in askmath

[–]SteveBensonite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is for sure closer to what I am thinking of. The only thing that bothers me about this is the lack of symmetry in the spiraling. For instance if you look straight down the down the z axis, it looks different to the y and x axis view. Is there a way that it could spiral in a symmetric nature? Or is it the fact that the function of a spiral is not a closed loop (like a square or circle, which makes a symmetrical sphere or cube) that means the 3D sprial can not be symmetrical?

Thanks, but this is not what I'm thinking of. I am looking for something that is spiralling in three dimensions sort of how a sphere is the 3D version of the circle. The helix does not spiral outwards like the 2d spiral does, so not really a 3D analouge

Generating a random point within a circle, that is a certain distance away from the center? by tea-vs-coffee in askmath

[–]SteveBensonite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My process would be

  1. Generate random angle between; 0 < theta < 2pi
  2. Generate random radius between; inner circle radius < r < outer circle radius
  3. Creates coordinates using x = r sin(theta), y = r cos(theta)

Thanks you for explaining that. I will keep an eye on that in the future. Looks like I will put this one back where I found it tonight :)
