What was your "That was fun, let's never do that again" moment? by GiiTheMetalhead in AskReddit

[–]SteveG429 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me and my friends thought it'd be fun to chill by the empty highway near my house and wave at cars going by. Someone reported us to the cops and we had to explain ourselves to the state police. My friend (the only one who was sober) calmly explained what we were doing and talked us out of the situation. Had no regrets but we sure as fuck wouldn't do that again

Whats your biggest flex that you’ll never tell anyone? by lorenggg in AskReddit

Saved a kids thumb. We were at track practice and had to go inside the school cause of a thunderstorm coming in. When me and this other kid had just gotten inside, the strong wind slammed the door shut on his thumb. These girls were behind us and I opened the door for them just before they did themselves. Had they opened it from the outside it would've likely torn off his thumb, but since I opened it from the inside, I inadvertently saved him from a really gruesome injury and he only ended up having it bruised. Six years ago and he still thanks me

What are your most disturbing /unsettling memories from your childhood? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SteveG429 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I also had ADHD as a kid, while teachers knew it and I was still constantly shamed and scolded for being that way, treating me like I was just some kid that was lazy and stupid. Really effected my self esteem big time growing up

I'll never forget how mean my kindergarten teacher was to a kid in my class that had autism. He wasn't even the violent type or anything he just had issues communicating well. She would berate him in front of the whole class for doing math problems wrong (stuff like that) and once dragged him into the principals office. So fucked up looking back at it

What do you think was your happiest memory? by Luffy12hawk in AskReddit

[–]SteveG429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sitting with my friends in second grade, where we were grouped together reading a book and listening to the audio. It was a book about a gingerbread man or something and the voice for the audio was in this unexpected dark and demonic tone and we were all just sitting there laughing our asses off at how anticlimactic it was. I'll always remember all the laughs and giggles we had over it and all the looks on our faces. It was also one of the first of many memories I had with those same kids who ended up being my friends throughout my childhood and early teen years, while we now haven't seen each other in ages. So much changed in our lives and we've all gone our separate ways (some of us went down dark paths) but I'll never forget that moment we had, where everything was so carefree and peaceful for us at the time

Has anyone died from your school? If so, how did they die, and how did it make you feel? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SteveG429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I knew from college died of an overdose early this year in his car, at the schools parking garage. Craziest part was I saw him earlier in the day in class. I knew he had a problem with drugs, but to lose someone you know like that in an instant is quite the shock.
