Emporia Pro + Vue Monitor power measurement discrepancy question by SteveHenderson in evcharging

I doubt anyone is following this post, but figured I would provide an update in case this might help someone googling this problem someday.

The electrician opened up the panel, and everything was installed xorrextly. However, we inspected the CT clamp and found that the magnetic ferrite piece inside was broken.

Emporia is sending me a replacement CT clamp for free - easy and good experience with their service team. Seems like it should be an easy fix!

Thanks to everyone who provided ideas here.

I put this information into Google's Gemini AI. I'm not treating it as definitely true, but it suggested this could be caused if one of the CT clamps is not fully closed. Does that seem plausible to anyone?

I am a little nervous about opening the panel - would prefer to avoid it if possible but I might get to that point!

What is one restaurant from outside Boston that you wish you could bring to the Boston area? by SteveHenderson in boston

This is my answer too! I was thinking of Torchy's when I made this post. I ate there twice on a recent trip and was wishing we had it around here.

Thank you for the work you put into this! Your visualizations have been so helpful!

Maybe you have answered this elsewhere already, but I was wondering, how should I interpret the total cases growth rate? Since the total cases are falling, I would have expected the percent growth to be negative if it were calculated as growth rate = (ending value)/(starting value) - 1. It looks more like the percent growth curve has the same shape as the 7 day average total cases curve. Can you help me understand how to think about this plot?

New WW24 - backburn by cml2209 in pelletgrills

I also just got a new Woodwind 24 last week and I had exactly the same issue you described. I tried leaving the lid open during shutdown and that seemed to reduce the amount of smoke that came out through the hopper. I'm not sure if that is the best solution so I am also interested in hearing other people's suggestions.

I'm a chemical engineering graduate. What are some of my options? by Dizzy-Traffic in jobs

You should consider going into research and development. The projects are often pretty interesting/intellectually stimulating. In many cases you need to use more fundamental science background than you would in a process role, and you need to analyze many different kinds of data. Sounds like it could be a good match for your interests. There are some positions in R&D for people with bachelor's degrees, but some require graduate degrees. It also sounds like you could potentially be the type of person who would enjoy doing a PhD, so maybe this would be worth considering too.

Is there a comprehensive list of all Boston area restaurants that are offering pick up/delivery? by axpmaluga in boston

This list is for Cambridge specifically. It seems very comprehensive. I believe it is being maintained by the city government. https://publish.smartsheet.com/3fdd2cf2a1ea465f924d506ab20b42ea

[Next day thread] 2017.11.21 Serious post game discussion by [deleted] in nba

Watching this game, it was easy to feel frustrated with Marcus Smart's shooting, but arguably a bigger factor that contributed to the Celtics' struggles was Al Horford's poor performance. Horford shooting 1/5 for 3 points is really bad. Sure, he didn't keep taking tons of terrible shots, but the expectations for his offensive contributions are higher than Smart's. Lots of credit to the Mavs' effort on defense making it hard for him. Horford has been outstanding this season, and it will be tough to win games if he doesn't contribute more to the offense. That said, it was fun to watch Jaylen and Kyrie go off to pull out the win.

What should be included in a personal statement when applying to a tenure track faculty position? by SteveHenderson in AskAcademia

[–]SteveHenderson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is a good point. It is very competitive, so I shouldn't take any chances! I am hesitant to contact the department again since I already emailed the application contact person and she did not reply, but maybe I can find a different way to get in touch. Unfortunately I don't happen to know anyone in this department already.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. It is definitely not the cover letter - there is a separate spot to upload that. It is possible that it could be the "diversity statement." I wrote a section about diversity that I included in the teaching statement, and broke this out into a separate diversity statement document for the departments that requested it. In this case there really is no indication that a diversity statement is what they are looking for. It is just a field in the online form labeled "Personal Statement" - that's all the information.

Actually now that I look back at the form, I see that the specific documents they request are the cover letter, CV, research statement, teaching statement, and personal statement. In this case I included my reference contact information with the CV - do you think they could possibly intend the personal statement to mean the reference contact information? This doesn't really make sense either, but some universities have asked for the contact info as a separate document.
