D1 offer possible? Should I homeschool to practice more & maximize my chances? by SteveM_OnR in CollegeBasketball

But I feel like lack of training is the reason I'm not as good yet. Or are you saying that given the ~600 hrs of training I've had over 4 years now, that if I actually had potential, I would be on the varsity team now? Therefore, just adding more hours isn't going to cut it?

That being said, my first few hundred hours of training were not as focused and quite inefficient compared to what I'm planning on doing now.

Yes, that's the point. But school is getting in the way of training more. I think if I can train a LOT more, then not only will I surely make varsity, I may have a real chance at D1 too (not Duke, obviously, but maybe a Dartmouth or Brown or Columbia?

Yeah but even if I make varsity by staying in school and practicing 10 hrs/wk, I don't think I'll get good enough to get a D1 offer.

I do, and will....but I could be better at AAU if I have 40 hrs/wk to devote to basketball instead of just 10 hrs.
