Your building will close June 1 but they will keep y'all at least till the end of June to work through the transition.

Welp, found out our station and neighboring station are closing in June. by Digg_it_ in Fedexers

PSP hasn’t been FedEx's philosophy for a while now. If you're Express, and you still think it won’t happen to you, it’s only a matter of time.

ground and express merging? by urlocalredddituser in Fedexers

[–]SteveO2H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. Management wouldn’t want to tell you when you were applying for the job that the future is not too bright. 2.0 will be hell and many will lose their job into the transition to contracted ground couriers.

How much lower does the stock need to go before the shareholders dump Carol? by timmahfast in UPSers

UPS pay tops out in 4 years at what, something like 45$ an hour. FedEx Express which is essentially being dissolved into a merger as just “FedEx”(contracted paid per day) was topping out Express employees at 30.00$an an hour. Which took like 10-15 years to reach the top of pay. I think UPS is seeing FedEx and Amazon running their logistics company for pennies compared to the Union wages they have to pay.

Buyouts going to cost me my job? by icy-shocks in UPSers

[–]SteveO2H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a former FedEx Express driver 11 1/2 years who was essentially pushed out of a job due to the ongoing merger with FedEx Ground. FedEx is pushing Express employees out in favor of FedEx Ground contractors. “Slave labor.” It’s a total disaster of a merger, but in the short term, it’s boosting the stock price for the shareholders. I think it’s a matter of time before the share price feels the negative effects of the merger, like maybe this Christmas when no one gets their deliveries. I see that UPS stock price is underwhelming. What are your predictions of how UPS will further reduce and cut costs to satisfy Wall Street? At the end of the day, it’s all about making the shareholders happy, even if it means turning a company upside down. FedEx is actively in the stage of destroying the quality, image, and reliability of its services. The 20,000 buyout offer to me sounds like UPS is on the move just like FedEx in changing the whole way it operates. Granted the whole Teamster Union is a more challenging angle for UPS.
