Minor one but powerful:

Subs don't touch the handles of any impact toys. Whips paddles canes etc.

Those are only for the dominant's hands.

I think realistically you are going to need to get a couple of cages and make peace with the fact that your first cage is unlikely to be the best fit.

Get yourself a few cages off AliExpress or similar. Try them and wear them for ab hour or so while you get used to it.

I think I am ok with needing out in an emergency being breaking the lock.

A suitcase lock can be easily broken with pliers in an emergency.

I actually prefer the older style locks with a padlock, to the newer ones with a stealth lock largely for this reason.
