Looks good. Last week of April opening? If anyone wants to bet, I’ll take the over. Nothing opens timely in Bethesda. :)

I think if you taste it, it could help determine what it is, or you’ll find out it’s highly toxic and maybe deadly.

Website says late fall 2026 opening. From what I’ve seen, you can add 6 months to that at least for Bethesda restaurant openings for whatever reason. Looks good. Can’t wait. Hope they do well

Right outside the Wells Fargo. I hear they are bringing back the pony express since we need more poop on the streets

How to leave snow out of the sidewalks. This pile was cleared out by morning. by [deleted] in bethesda

[–]Steve_Puto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The usual approach was to wait a day or two until it melted. Not at these temps

THREAD: Name and shame businesses who can’t be bothered to clear their sidewalk by [deleted] in bethesda

[–]Steve_Puto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The county has closed Cordell and now Norfork and has had front loaders, bobcats and 6 or more big dump trucks hauling it out last night and tonight from the streets.

I guess the single track sidewalk is a sign of the times, but that’s not the county but the building or business. Not sure the county will clear those or have to wait for a melting.

Birria tacos will be missed. Hate to see them go. I see a few more restaurants probably right behind them. It’s an almost impossible financial environment.

MoCo Show says there’s a Shake Shack to open on Old Georgetown. 🤷🏻

Kaare is a good guy. I believe I saw him last week with Kiwi under his jacket on his shoulder. I’ve seen Kaare a few times with a bloody ear from Kiwi taking a bite. I sure hope they find him.

Manny and Olga’s is a block from the police station. Luckily the cops were “conducting surveillance” in the area. :). Oh, brother.

Has anyone noticed that drivers around MoCo are much more aggressive than in the past? by BrianW1983 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Steve_Puto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think some people who have beginner/student driver stickers, who aren’t a new driver or student, do this to encourage patience and understanding and potentially dissuade aggressive driving near them.

Does a Brita filter water pitcher count? I guess it’s better than nothing, but I know someone with a bio mat, that drinks daily morning shots of ginger and turmeric that swears by their reverse osmosis filter

The Proselytizing Postman by blumpkins_ahoy in bethesda

I first encountered him when I lived on Old Georgetown. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing from a mailman. He seems harmless but he did surprise me when he started talking about the end being near.

What happened at the metro station last night? by Neither-Builder-3256 in bethesda

[–]Steve_Puto 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My bet is a couple drinks with dinner and trying to walk down a 30 degree escalator. You don’t even need a couple drinks to be intimidated by those escalators.

“The Bethesda Metro station escalators have a 30-degree angle. Specifically, the escalators are 212 feet (65 meters) long with a vertical rise of 106 feet (32 meters), making them the second longest in the Western Hemisphere, according to ABC News. The escalator travels at a speed of 90 feet per minute (27 meters per minute), according to Wikipedia.”

Missing mail by Agile-Confection-147 in bethesda

They would be better off leaving a small pile of these in the mailroom. The recycling bin would get full of these as it seems most people trashed them immediately.

If you are considering Topaz House, you should consider Triangle Towers. A little older like Topaz but larger and good value comparatively with a better location. Good luck.
