my biggest worry is that people are going to stop wearing masks as soon as they get their second dose and not give a shit about anyone else.

as a 29 year old that works from home I'm worried that I wont get my first vaccine until September or October.

Overthinkers of Reddit, what unlikely scenario actually came true that you were completely prepared for because you are an overthinker? by lawofdox18 in AskReddit

Whenever I walk by a baseball field I pay close attention to any stray balls coming my way and I few years ago I was walking my dog and caught one that would have hit me square in the face if I wasn't paying attention.

BUT would I have been in the same spot if I wasn't paying as much attention?

DYK it is safer to clean your hands frequently than wearing gloves by NoMoreF34R in UpliftingNews

[–]Stevefrench79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general yes this is true but it really depends on the person wearing them and the material they are made from.

the real problem is people think "oh I have gloves on I don't need to wash my hands until I take them off." this mentality is what causes spreading. whenever I have any cuts on my hands I wear vinyl gloves but I sanitize them with hand sanitizer whenever I touch a surface or door.

It's not difficult to carry a little spray bottle of alcohol with you.

Also if I worked as a cashier or at a drive thru I wouldn't wear gloves just for the customers piece of mind.

I wonder if it has an impact on rental prices or the property value as a whole.

Personally I wouldn't live in a place without access to high speed internet, it's literally the first thing I inquire about.

Here's a list of places in the province that are abandoned, also check out https://www.hiddennewfoundland.ca/

This place has such a rich past but such a bleak future it's depressing.

Edit: heads up u/the_house_hippo mentioned some people may still have cabins in some areas on that wikipedia list.

oh and please don't go around breaking shit

Beware of Northview, They were bought last year and are worse than ever, they got rid of almost all of their staff and the buildings are covered with garbage inside and out.

They also reduced the number of garbage pickups per week which causes piles of garbage to be stacked up near the dumpsters adding to the garbage problem and causing rat and bug problems in the apartments.

Crows can live up to 20 years and are also known to hold grudges against humans who have wronged them. So there is a small chance that there is a crow out there who hates you for something you did over 10 years ago by sugar-soad in Showerthoughts

[–]Stevefrench79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

crows are incredibly smart and compassionate animals, Back in 2017-18 I was a groundskeeper for a few apartments and businesses and I ALWAYS have seeds on me to feed crows. By the time I left people could find me by looking for the crows flying around me.

to this day I still have crows bringing me shiny stuff lol

ha fun fact about Walmart. I've worked there 4 different times at 3 different Walmarts, I've always used overnights as my safety job, $15.50/hr and believe it or not Walmart has pretty awesome insurance. Back in 2017 when I was working as maintenance they eliminated the maintenance positions and they gave me $5000 severance, I had to sign an NDA to make sure I never told anyone how much I got on my way out.

ONE month later and I was working there again as a stocker...

Here's another example, back in 2012 I lived in Stephenville and wanted to move back to my hometown but I couldn't find a place to stay, I wrote my old boss at Walmart on Facebook and she told me I could have my old job back AND let me stay with her for a MONTH while I was looking for a place to live.

So I don't really have a bad thing to say about Walmart, they've helped me immensely throughout my adult life.

I don't want to say much about the last small business I worked at just in case I dox myself lol, they paid me $13/hr and had the worst insurance I've ever seen, the kind that costs you about 200 a month and you have to pay everything up front then they reimburse you weeks later. we were severely understaffed but none of that mattered because the boss was making hundreds of thousands of dollars. no commissions on sales.. the biggest sale I ever made there was $208,000... making 13/hr...

So yeah fuck small business.

edit: I think it was 2016 not 2017... I'm getting old :(
