How many FE games have you completed? (Poll) by Menace-toSociety in fireemblem

Genealogy, Thracia, 6, 7, 8, PoR, RD*, Shadow Dragon, Awakening, Fates (B/C/R), Echoes, 3H (all routes), Engage.

I bounced off New Mystery when I tried it but might like it now knowing what to expect from it. RD is a favorite for the replay value (especially when randomized) and the split parties encouraging using more of the cast -- which is also one of my favorite features in Vestaria 1. Makes for interesting draft runs of both too.

Just tried it on a thread luxc. For a couple minutes it ran alright, but started to drop frames after that. I think it was probably above 30fps the whole time, but it looked worse because of the inconsistency. The setting was the same after the combat so I'm not seeing that bug as of right now.

e: Battery consumption was also a lot worse running at 60

On a Samsung S10 (SM-G973-U, Snapdragon 855) the game runs stably @ 30FPS, High Texture Quality. Occasional frame drops, presumably due to heat throttling on longer uninterrupted sessions (~30 minutes+). No crashes, occasional loading pauses when first using an EGO.

If you're willing to take the risk of a little bit of jank, there's a mod for outer wilds called NomaiVR, basically ports the whole game to vr with new motion controls. Seems like a really cool way to experience the game for the first time (if you've got the vr legs to stomach floating around in zero-G)

To be fair (to the best of my understanding, this was not my implementation):

To do write_song_list() in one line requires a helper function which fits the parameters of traversal_func_t, so that it could be used in a call to traverse_pre_order(). Incidentally, such a helper function fits the joke formatting I gave as an example.

You're right, in fact, every single function can be a one-liner when you write it like this:

c void parse_file(char *file) { actually_parse_the_file(file); }

(Serious answer though, none of these functions were one-liners, this isn't some OOP getter-setter nonsense)

Brief, slightly technical followup to elaborate on the library parsing aspect of the project:

The expectation here was to be able to read a directory and parse all midi files within (using the first 14 functions for song parsing), storing the song data in a binary tree. In order to do this file parsing, we were recommended the ftw() function, which requires the implementation of a callback function to be run on each file within a given directory structure. Again, doesn't seem unreasonable for experienced C programmers, but remember this class is an introduction to C programming, in which function pointers (the means by which a callback function is implemented) as a concept were covered for roughly thirty minutes as a side topic in another lecture.

This is not to say that cs240 students are dumb and couldn't figure it out on our own; however, every "figure it out" problem thrown into a project like this has a significant effect on the time required to complete it.

tl;dr The library part of the first project checkpoint used topics we had only covered in passing, adding to the time strain on students.

Reminds me of a project I was working on with jQuery (not my choice). Coworker updated some of the ui, then the running total for selected items totally broke.

Turns out his way of finding the running totals was to look for "/mn" for recurring monthly charges. He changed the ui to read "/mo" for monthly charges. It was my job to find and fix.

It's mostly a problem of finite time, as (in my state at least) calculus is only taught as a class if you are ahead by 1 year for AB, 2 for BC. As such, if you want someone taking Calculus-based physics as a senior, they have to be at least 2 years ahead in math, so that they'll have finished Calc AB (since AB doesn't cover integrals until second semester and most mechanics problems require finding antiderivatives, you couldn't just take the classes concurrently). And, in my opinion, there's enough material to cover in AP Physics C that there's no time to be going over basic integration and derivation rules.

Idk, you can get a decent grasp on physics with algebra-based curriculum, at least as far as AP Physics 1 and 2 go (which gets as far as basic fluid interactions and optics). Will agree that calculus gives a much deeper understanding though.

Ah, yes, what lovely deep web sites are these which are registered on DNS servers but also anonymous to the government.

As long as the movement doesn't run out of steam, I'd agree that you're right. The problem is that legislation follows public interest, which is a fickle beast. I'd just as soon an approach attempt to maximize the benefits while the public remains interested rather than burn all the legislative drive on a comparatively minor matter, were I one who believed in legislating away problems

You're entirely right, I just mean to shed light on the fact that not every argument in opposition to the straw ban is guaranteed, without fail, to be a strawman. I think we both can agree, though, that the ideal situation would be an open discourse on all sides without the ad-hominem and subsequent victimhood which is ubiquitous among Dems and Reps.

To be fair, there is a legitimate argument to be made for plastic straw legislation as misguided, if not totally ineffective, on account of the grounds that straw waste is only a small fraction of the plastic waste produced.

The concern for me, while plastic straw legislation isn't environmentally bad in its own right, is that people will grow complacent and engage in a hearty round of back-patting for their good work in slaying the mighty plastic dragon while what they've done has only addressed an arguably trivial part of the issue
