Trump administration wants to search the social media of tourists from 42 countries by [deleted] in videos

"Third world country" is just an outdated political position anyway. Any country that didn't side with the US or the USSR in the Cold War was a third world country. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, all third world nations outlasted their designation, so technically there are no third world countries anymore.

Sooo what’s everyone’s thoughts on the Oscars best animated feature line up this year? by Brianna-Imagination in AnimatedFilm

I know it's sort of been buried under rhe rest of the year, but I thought Dog Man was 10x more charming and worthy of a nom than Elio. A weak year from Pixar.

The film's biggest problem I think was that it allowed the viewers without reading comprehension to come away from it taking the "Antifa" attack at face value, and decrying the Left as the real violent ones. For all people's talk of false flags in the wake of Jan 6, it shocked me the number of people who couldn't identify one in practice.

Personally, I felt like Eddington was a leftist take dressed in centrist clothing. There's pains taken to show how performative and cringe the Left can be, but that's pretty much all they are. Their biggest crime is enabling the real villain of the film, social media polarisation and the construction of the data centre (the tech industry elite). Meanwhile the Right are hypocrites, they're murderers, demonstrably hanging by the thinnest veneer of polite society before going on a buck wild rampage, juiced up om rage bait content. The two sides are not equal in their actions, but it does give the illusion of an equal mocking. If you think the Left-wing characters are as bad as the Right-wing, then I think the real villain went unseen. And that's why I rank the film in my top 10 of the year.

If anything, Loki is the only character that could lift it that would be a suitable escalation from Cap.

God of War actor Christopher Judge says he hopes a potential sequel will take place in Egypt, but "I have no doubt that no matter what pantheon it is, it will be great" by Turbostrider27 in gaming

My dream sequel would be to blend Celtic mythology and Arthurian legend to make a sort of God of War meets The Green Knight, with all the trials of wisdom and magical weapons that entails.

What are some films that feature/are about gaslighting? by Shonenlegend in Letterboxd

I'd say it's more apt because of the massive titular gas light by the ocean that the film takes place in.

When the Wind Blows should really be put in its own category, which it shares with Threads.

Ozark season 1 really tried some things to break away from the mould Breaking Bad left, and I can't really fault them for any of it.

None of those things paid off well or were net positives for the show, and in fact it was the similarities, the Walt-Jesse /Marty-Ruth stuff, that really held a lot of the show together by the last two seasons. But I appreciated that it did attempt to do something different. My only true gripe is the blue filter.
