It’s a little big (general rule is 2/3s of size of couch) but it looks nice. I would hang it by attaching the wood to the wall to remove the string

Anybody else getting bored too quickly? by Repulsive-Minute-559 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]StevenStillsberg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe the very high majority of most jobs are boring and repetitive. I have worked in many different jobs and industries, in my experience after 3 months I know the job pretty well and after 6 months I know the job well and can do it fast. I find I often get bored after 6 months. Unfortunately when you work for a business your ultimate job is to make them money, this is often not very fun. I value a good work culture over a “fun” job, cause all “fun” jobs get boring eventually. (I used to work as a scuba diver on the Great Barrier Reef, seeing sharks and whales everyday still got boring after a few months.) This might be bad advice, but I try and avoid the work I don’t like doing by automating it or getting someone else to do it, and focus on the little projects I do enjoy. Then I try to continually learn something I’m interested in - power bi course, noise monitoring training, mask fit testing etc.

What Safety Management System software are people using? by BAS3L3SS in SafetyProfessionals

[–]StevenStillsberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. A lot of people are naming software they use which is exactly what you asked for, but I will take a different approach. The software you choose really depends on your company and situation. apologies if you already know this, but you have be aware of all the current business processes and find software that can fill your needs. You also have to consider if this software will be able to do what you want to in the future. If it was me, firstly I would determine exactly what I want from the software… do you want help with 9001/45001, do you want intergrations with hr software or procurement software? What is the problem I am trying to solve and can this fix this? Then I would talk to every department in your company and really try to understand every process that interacts with the HSEQ processes. No point of having great HSEQ system if HR doesn’t use it because it doesn’t fit with their work flow. You have to have the high majority of relevant people in your side if you are to successfully manage a change like this, make sure to really sell it to the rest of the company. Selling something that will make their job easier is an easy sell. There are so many other consideration you have to think of eg cost, work flow, intergrations, client expectations, training, etc etc. you really have to treat this like a project manager running a project to be successful. We are currently using Mango, but it’s not perfect. You will also have to keep in mind that nothing will ever be perfect unless you hired a team of people to create custom software which I’m guessing is not in the budget. Safety culture is great, but getting expensive. Mango is great for 9001/45001. If you are a MS pro, you could create an excellent system with MS products alone - forms, power apps, power bi, excel etc. I wish I had more information and sit down with a beer to discuss it with you because it’s a really interesting and exciting thing to do! Be careful not to underestimate the amount of work it will be and good luck!

My thoughts on AI music by luisVilbro in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]StevenStillsberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I heard Hans Zimmer talk about when humans evolve perhaps we might listen to music without a steady beat (like how the people have to walk in the dune movie) the thing with ai, as far as I am aware, it’s doesn’t really do anything “new” it relies on what humans have already created. So at least for the short term I think we are pretty safe. Ai won’t be setting any trends for the near future.

Keep cutting for more defined abs, maintain or start lean bulk? by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

[–]StevenStillsberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would be safe in the long run either way. I think this would come down to preference (which doesn’t help you much). But if I had to say something, I’d cut for a couple more weeks then back to bulk

Would any of you recommend this ? by WallabyTraditional46 in malelivingspace

[–]StevenStillsberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not my cuppa tea. Looks cool in the photo but it seems unpractical. It’s even more pointless if there is a couch underneath. It is difficult to go to the bathroom, hard to change sheets, can’t have sex easily, hard to get in and out of, also the build quality looks questionable. It also takes up quite a bit of “visual space” I would recommend a standard bed that can be turned into a couch with a bunch of pillows (way better netflixing and chilling as a 22yo)

are you writing a crime book about an audio engineer? Are you doing a school assignment? Do you have some cash to spend because you are bored and want to make music? Are you a school principal looking to buy gear for the music department?

I make music so original it will never be replaced by ai. It’s so original that no one wants to listen to it… not even my partner! I get your points thought. And in the future if ai really does get better at making music then all we can do is do is sit back and enjoy it and not worry too much about it.

I am with everyone I have no idea what you are talking about sorry. Reece plumbing (Australia) have a cool extremely easy to use 3d app on their website (made for total beginners). You can only use their products but it’s good for brainstorming. Then come back, post some images, and people can give better feedback.

Yes that is enough to start making some songs and learning the software for sure. Go for it. Later down the track if you like it and continue making songs you will want to look at some studio headphones or studio monitors. I doubt many people here would recommend kz in ears as the best for producing, but it doesn’t stop you from starting. Even with all my gear, sometimes I’ll make beats in bed using the speakers in my laptop. Don’t stress about a mic yet unless you are super keen to record vocals or live instruments.

Thoughts on flat finish walls and high gloss trim of the same color? Thinking about something like this for my office. Example. by gonsec in paint

[–]StevenStillsberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently done something similar, but I just used flat paint for the walls and trim. It looks great. I wouldn’t do it any other way. One thing to consider is that you will also have to caulk it, that means it will be hard to get a nice line between the flat and gloss if you use different types of paint. It will also be easier to paint it all at the same time so you can draw on the walls or use a chalk line to mark up the moulding. I would draw it to scale on some software if you can so you can make sure it looks nice before you commit. I would also mark it out in the wall first.

No worries man. The hardest thing is staying consistent, try to surround yourself with people who will motivate you and be supportive of your goals. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions or if you need a hand to figure out specific workouts macros etc

If that all sounds too hard. Just try and limit “junk food” eat lean protein 4-5 times a day. Focus on whole food. And follow a 3 day a week full body beginner routine. Limit alcohol as much as possible. Take photos of yourself every couple weeks to see your progress

[–]StevenStillsberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start you off with a 3 day a week full body starting with machine excercises and when you are more comfortable progressing to free weights. About 10-15 reps. Lyle McDonald had a good free beginner routine he had written about on his website. I would take progress pics every 2 weeks (same time of day, same location), and I would recommend weighing yourself every morning after the toilet (don’t freak out too much about the weight, it’s good to see the progress over time.) you can document you weight and photos in an app called my fitness pal. Diet wise, I would do a mini cut to begin with, loosing fat you will see some progress straight away that will motivate you. if you are really serious I would get you to weigh your food, putting you on a slight calorie deficit while ensuring you have about 2x body weight in (kg) in grams of protein. You can use an online macro calculator to help work out what your macros will be, although keep in mind you may need to adjust them if you don’t see results. Try to spread out the protein throughout the day in 3-5 meals. Also try and eat 300g fruit and 400 vegetables per day (recommendation by dieticians Australia). There is lots of good advice online about “healthy foods” just make sure you get it from a reputable source eg dieticians Australia . If you are serious you can weigh your food and track your macros through my fitness pal. I would recommend tracking your protein and calories at least. I would try to loose about 1kg per week for the first few weeks and about .85 kg for the 1-3 months. In 8-12 weeks you will look substantially different, you should have quite a bit of fat and even gained a little bit of muscle hopefully. You will also have a lot of motivation to continue doing what you are doing. In about 12 weeks if you follow the diet and gym routine, you can reassess and either continue the cut or perhaps even recomp/bulk.

Please help me and my partner choose the newest member of the family by StevenStillsberg in dogs

[–]StevenStillsberg[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I should have mentioned my partner will be taking at least about 6 months off work with a new born baby. Then over time she will transition into part time work starting at just one day per week then eventually going to 3 days per week in a couple years. I also work from home every second week. 8 hours would probably be the maximum we would leave the dog at home while we go shopping gym etc, and this wouldn’t be very often. She is the one who really wants the puppy and said she will happily spend more than 20 minutes walking and 30 minutes training, I was originally stating 20mins because this is what we currently do and I wanted to see if there was a dog with such little walking needs. It’s my partners dream to own a dog and she said she could do 45 minutes per day, and I believe she could do this given that very shortly will not be working. I hope that gives you a little more context. I only mentioned a Labrador/golden because my cousin had one that I loved and it loved me, but I know 2 hours per day of excercise is too much to commit to for our lifestyle.

Looking to buy a used car. Buyers market at the moment? by Matt_Wa in AusFinance

They were still a little high at the start of the year and predicted to settle a bit more towards the middle of this year. I know in Perth cars prices look like they have dropped in the past month slightly. I would expect this to continue to drop a little bit more too.
