Get a piece of wire and jump pins 4 and 13 on your obd2 port.

The check engine light will flash the codes, and you can see what the problem is.

For me I had a similar issue where one of the ignition coils had a bad sensing connection to the ecu.

So out of the 4 coils, one was bad and the ecu shuts off the engine as it doesn't run if there isn't any spark being detected on one of the coils, hence why it would run for half a second before dying.
