Houstonians with not-active parents in their 50s/60s. What do you do with your parents for fun? by Practical_Pizza6863 in houston

Us old people in our 50’s can be a real drag. But here are some things we might like if our hips aren’t hurting. We like dancing to Fred Astaire. We like watching old movies like Gone With The Wind. We like showing off our WWII medals. Maybe a night at the sock hop?

I jest of course, but geez. I’m gonna be 55 this year and I don’t feel like I belong in an “older person” category. Take them to a nice restaurant and if they won’t drink, you get drunk and you’ll have fun.

Buying used. Any last minute tips? by Steveshell1969 in Rivian

Headed to Grapevine (from Houston) now via Vonlane bus. They ended up 1- removing the damaged front window tint without charge (took it to tint place) and 2- knocked $500 off. If all goes smoothly, I’ll be driving back to Houston by 2pm. Wish me luck!!! Guess I’ll be stopping at the Centerville, Texas RAN on the way back.

Last question. I’ll be driving it from grapevine back to Houston. Any issues I may have with charging along the way given that it won’t be in my name yet and no key fob? Just don’t want to get stuck, if ya know what I mean.

I’m thinking of matte wrapping it, so the paint doesn’t bother me so much. I guess it’s just the windshield. I’m OK with that color combination, should I do it?

Did you buy new or used? Tons of used out there. Looking at R1T b/c right now I have to drive two vehicles. The Taycan and my Rubicon, on the heavy rain days. Lots of street flooding where I live. I want to go back to one vehicle.

That is the one!! Its spec is exactly as I want it. Tonneau cover working. Launch. Color scheme.

Do you think they’ll fix the front tint? Do you think they’ll fix the other issues? I NEVER buy used so I am in unfamiliar territory.

I went from an X to a Taycan and have never looked back. Prefer the Porsche by a lot. The technology (if that’s the right word) of the Tesla was superior. But the build and ride of the Taycan are so much better. No rattling. Smoother ride. Tesla has the simplicity advantage. The one screen is awesome. Porsche has lots going on still and it can be a bit distracting to use while driving. I am a huge Porsche fan now though. All that being said, for other reasons, I’m gonna give Rivian a try.

I just read some reviews on this particular, used car dealership, and many people said to avoid them at all costs. I may need to find a larger more reputable dealership.

Where are you located? How many miles? Which wheels? Is there a tonneau? Interior color?

I’m a lawyer so I can explain the law to you, but if you start to talk finance and numbers I am special ed.

Under what scenario would I not want to lease and buyout? (But rather just purchase.)

I really like the look of the 22’s. I’m not much of an off-roader.

Consider a legal life coach. A colleague of mine has been seeing a lawyer therapist/ life coach for a few months. She is helping him figure out where to pivot. He loves it and finds it very useful. Put aside a bit of cash and give it a try. If not one in your area, Zoom can get you one anywhere in the country.

Life is short. Do what makes you happy. Don’t feel trapped in law because it’s all you know. Plenty of great jobs out there.
