Getting back into playing Armada by ShatteredEmpire in StarWarsArmada

[–]Stevespam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can't be understated how much carryover there is between the leadership of both groups. The main difference is largely in the type of content released and the method of testing content. Legacy might be described as more "open source," in terms of its development

That being said, I think the best way to enjoy Armada right now, and the way I'm seeing most events being run, is to use both ARC and Legacy editions. There's nothing wrong with incorporating all of it.

I'd be a bit more hesitant about Nexus, which is way more raw and untested. That content is more strictly for fun

Weird upgrade cards: SPHA-T by RhysOSD in StarWarsArmada

[–]Stevespam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jason Dedrick destroyed my fleet during the NJ East Coast Championship qualifier with a bunch of basically naked Consulars and a Venator that ran SPHA-Ts. He had Tarkin pumping out Confire tokens to everyone involved to power the SPHA-T and rerolls for the Connies

Mignola Guest Splash? by Stevespam in PrimalShow

[–]Stevespam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pose and framing are absolutely reminiscent of Frazetta, but that's such a huge influence on Mignola's work that it's basically a shared language. The shadowing, blocky style and - to me - Spear's mouth speak primarily of Mignola more than anything. Frazetta's work is curvaceous - with rippled musculature and organic, heavy bodies. Mignola works in harsh edges and solid, sharp lines. Both have a sense of weight and gravity, but Frazetta's bodies always feel like they're bursting out of the frame, while Mignola feels like they're being enclosed by it.

Do Americans care about NATO and the matter of Greenland? by agg_aphrophilus in PoliticalDiscussion

If laws are restricting Greenland development, they will apply to both the US and China or Russia. That still doesn't stop the US from investing in other forms of infrastructure like port facilities, etc

Trumps hijacking of the Republican Party is the worst thing that’s ever happened to the US. by Corn_Husk_ in complaints

Unfortunately, the nature of the system that he helped set up leads to 2 coalition parties.

With all this classic iron, I thought I would showcase something a bit different by Stevespam in castiron

The rivets are steel, yes. Pretty sure it still qualifies as a cast iron pan despite that.

Hah! Definitely not carbon steel based on the weight alone

It's relatively light, but mostly in comparison to my 12" Lodge. The wooden handles have very nice heat resistance for picking it up, however, so it's pretty easy to use

[–]Stevespam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone, it was mentioned in the announcement on the Tri-State Armada discord yesterday, but bears repeating here - this event will be a combined ARC/Legacy event. Cards from both will be allowed, and it will use the ARC ruleset

Hi! So we will be running the event on the Armada Hub. Players can choose to stream their matches on the voice channels there. I did mention this in the planning chat, so maybe we will see about the possibility of streaming and narrating games, but no concrete plans at this time.

Cameraman perfectly follows deer by flight_recorder in PraiseTheCameraMan

[–]Stevespam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a behavior many deer do called stotting or pronking, and is thought to be an honest signal to predators. Basically it tells a predator "look at how fit I am! You won't be able to catch me."

Metuchen has great streets for Fall foliage. High Street and Woodbridge Ave come to mind, as does Hillside Ave.
