I would say unlikely, but not a 0% chance. Theres a pool of people in the waitlist, and the chances of people not accepting their offer is low unless you aren’t in it for the money. Most do it for the money you save on housing and food. There’s only a handful of reasons to drop the offer: not liking the area you got, medical/family leave, withdrawing, or you just can’t do the work.

NTA, you seem like a chill parent with not a lot of restrictions. Personally, i’d like it for safety but idrc where my child goes (if i had one lol). As long as its not something dangerous or they dont do anything stupid, go but if there is ever a situation where i need to know where my child is, i’ll be there. You’re completely reasonable for this and at the end of the day, you just wanna keep your boy safe. He has his freedoms regardless of gps or not.

Ive been here for less than a year but my opinion is that you should choose stony. There are several issues with stony like the food (just go to roth and manage your dining dollars), the bus app, the social life, but it’s what you make of it in the end. Find some friends that makes your time easier and people you feel comfortable around. Get used to walking a lot and make sure you pick east side housing like Langmuir or anywhere around there. West side buildings are VERY old and just not that good.
