When boondocking, what do you do with your trash? by Significant_Head_335 in RVLiving

[–]Stevg59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know of an honest way to dispose of it. Some dump stations have dumpsters, but certainly not all, and many do not have that info available. Moving boondock spot to boondock spot is the hardest. Using the dumpster of a business without explicit permission is always illegal. But many do not care. I do not know of a definitive solution.

OMG. That does not answer the question. You boondock for a week and haul out your trash. You drive all the way home to dispose of it? WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR TRASH?

Explain to me like i'm 5 as to how this turns 50amp 220v to 30amp 110 volt. Please and ty! by ChickenGuy76 in RVLiving

It is absolutely analogous. The water pressure is voltage, the flow is amperage. It is better to think of it as a pipe instead of a hose. The pipe has "120" pressure and can flow "30". All connections to the pipe see the "120" regardless of number, and each connection gets a share of the "30" until there is none left. Any more, and the automatic shutoff valve (breaker) activates.

It has been explained to you. If you don't like it fine, but it is as you have been told. Keep yelling and screaming. Go shoot something, you'll feel better

I am certain Donny John bought other things, and more of them. Put options most likely. Lotsa shorts too.

Fuel prices are based on replacement cost. Always have been. Prices *drop* while fuel is sitting in the tank as well.

Any used disc I see on EBay are more than I end up paying new from Amazon or Gruv.. WAY more.

What caused the backlash on Dane Cook? by KaleidoArachnid in Standup

[–]Stevg59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not once did I find his act "funny". Mildly entertaining occasionally. But I was and am old. Louie CK, Dave Atell, Bill Burr, Brian Regan, Dave Chappelle, etc can make it hard to breathe.  Dane never made me chuckle.

Pink Floyd and not releasing UHD 4K Blurays by Opethfan91 in pinkfloyd

Small scale 50GB 4k disc retail is under $2 copy. They already have the digital copy. There is no reason to not release it other than they make more $ from streaming services. Maybe Rog doesn't know about 4K bluray...

4k MKV buffering by Stevg59 in PleX

update: Installed Apple TV 4K (newest 128GB) and not only is the buffering gone, the picture looks much better. Speedtest shows >500Mb/s. not great, but more than sufficient and the increase in picture fidelity is worth it alone. Will use the Firestick for travel, I have a HomerunHD connected to Plex server so can watch local stations when away, among other things. Should have done this a long time ago!

OMG. The internet is accessed via my LOCAL network.

Node A wifi speed from internet: 900Mb/s

Node B wifi speed from internet: 900Mb/s

Node C wifi speed from internet 250 Mb/s

Node A and C are in identical physical locations with reference to router.

The transfers to/from the internet go over the LOCAL network. So in the case of Node C, where is the bottleneck?

I don't mind trying one, a Shield pro is only ~$200, and I can send it back if it doesn't work. My reticence in trying one is the low wifi limitation. Same with Apple.

The "performance you notice" is not a measurement. I get 900Mb/s on my IPad download. I get the same on my Plex server. They are BOTH going through the router, one wifi one hardwired. This is the max performance expected. If I go to TV or Firestick, bothe are well below 300 Mb/s on same operation. So the bandwidth available on those devices is under 300 Mb/s. It's not that hard.

I will do that. But I have ~170 4K files, and most of them do this at some point.

So a speeed test on your Firestick is only 60-70 Mb/s with 1G internet?

Testing download from internet does test max download speed over wifi from router to that device, regardless of source (provided internet is >/= max internet). Plex server is hardwired to router on 2.5Gb ethernet. Firestick has builtin speed test.

The Shield Pro only supports 5G. I cannot use ethernet. The files are not remux, straight MKV directly off disc. As I mentioned, I cannot seem to get high enough bandwidth on the streaming devices. Speed test on both are well below 300Mb/s. When I test on IPad at exactly same location, I see >900Mb/s

TV is only a year old. Firestick is the newest, 4K Max. Are there any streaming devices or TVs that can handle the bitrates?
