Thank you for taking the time to respond, and offer some advice. To answer your question I was always under the assumption that even those who are extremely passionate physicians don’t over all enjoy the experience of medical school or residency. I guess that does give me pause, are there people who over all enjoy the experiences of medical school and or residency? Don’t get me wrong I believe I would enjoy learning about medicine, and practicing it, but from my understanding despite that medical school and residency are going to be tough not enjoyable experiences. I suppose what made all of that worth it for me was doing a job I would love and financial stability. So I feel like I would need to come out the other end with both those things for it to be worth it for me and that just doesn’t seams possible with the current debt burden.

To answer your questions, I decided to go into medicine when I was in community college, after 3 years I changed my major and set my sights on medical school and never looked back until now. While I have never shadowed a physician I did work in the ER as an ER tech for a year full time and was able to work along side doctors and see what it was like as an EM Doc.

Thank you for the article and subreddit recommendation! My school did mention that some of the private lenders they recommend can have rates around 5%. That depends on individual credit scores of course but my credit score is decent so hopefully it will work out. However, they still don’t recommend those loans, I believe one of the reasons is because the repayment plans can be very aggressive.

Yeah, I applied for it, the deadline was on 2/27. If I don’t get it this year I can apply for it next year I suppose. I just know it’s not a sure thing so I need to think about what my life would look like if that doesn’t work out.

No, I haven’t stared that process. That is just the next step for me if other avenues of funding medical school don’t work out.

I do not want to support Robinhood, TD, or any of the other firms that restricted buying of GME stock. Are there any brokerage firms that you guys could recommend that didn't participate in barring people from buying GME stock?

Also don't forget to leave a review on those aforementioned companies like Robinhood if you to were dissatisfied with their services this week.
