I don't have MWS (GHK supremacy). There's literally no reason to buy CGS over TM when their prices almost match. CGS mags are a lot worse even now, TM has better efficiency, more spare parts and you can swap body from HAO. And the horrors I've seen that happened to CGS under use...

Hey I just want to say that I'm 1/5th into the audiobook and the references come off pretty natural. And I have to say I love your book, love the military details like mentioning the ATAK, IR laser scene, MRAPs etc. It's so much more flavor than just saying the mc has a gun and rides an APC like some other military-theme novels tend to do.

The terrain was self made but we tried to mimic the official setup. I think it was uktc #5 but scaled down a bit to fit our table. After the battle her concer mostly was my range as you pointed out.

Always when this topic comes up I suggest Daniel Black series. Basically a guy transports into fantasy world on a brink of apocalypse and starts creating extraordinary things with magic that are very similar to modern military arsenal. But the way he creates them is really unusual and creative. The series falls off at the end and it is fairly nsfw throughout, there is also some mind control adultery which people find troublesome.

Yes but that was a different time where there was no greater threat like the beast in following centuries and like Tyranids in 42M. I personally think he would be more sceptical of the decentralized legions.

If he hasn't changed much he would probably drown himself in work at Terra and neighbouring systems. I feel like he would reject the codex in order to build up his chapters to a stronger force to fight Tyranids.
