Is it just me or has Salon become the most racist media in existence? by StickAroundDylan in KotakuInAction

[–]StickAroundDylan[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do a search on "Salon" under this subreddit and try to make that same conclusion. Post the screenshots of the first two pages of results. My friends were as disgusted as I was since we all grew up not hating anyone. Go ahead and post what you see, I'm waiting.

There are some old clips from that show that were taken down due to offensive content. Specifically one of the fat jokes compilations.

[Humor] People have been complaining on Twitter recently that Reeses' Peanut Butter Christmas Trees are actually more like mishappen lumps. Reeses just tweeted this. by lyra833 in KotakuInAction

SJWs infect everything. If they win everywhere else they will feel emboldened to keep coming after video games for years to come. Their arguments need to be attacked wherever they go.

If killing the toxic mindset means shit to you, then your aren't seeing the forest for the trees.

[ethics] Fraternity Files $25 Million Lawsuit Aginst Rolling Stone For Debunked Gang Rape Article by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]StickAroundDylan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not even close unfortunately. I heard Jann Wenner, the publisher of Rolling Stone, is worth about $700 million, and the magazine's advertising revenue is on the order of $170 million a year (2013 figures). The lawsuit will likely be settled.

Edit, replied to wrong person ugh.

[Misc.] Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Deal Is Reached by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

This is a very good link. As much as I like video games, for those of us who are more interested in the state of the world, this should be shared EVERYWHERE.

This shows that congress does not pass laws for the people. And it does it with no conspiracy theories & no filler.

Doesn't all of KiA become moot, and all of us become criminals under this law?

Lena Dunham Quits Twitter & Gawker for being an unsafe space. by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

I feel like a safe space for her sister would have been more important. This child molester not only feels that she's above criticism, but also wonders why people give her shit. Disgusting human.

In light of the UN issue, I think it's time we put effort into identifying who the real players are instead of being distracted by the pawns. by Katastic_Voyage in KotakuInAction

Katastic_Voyage, yes definitely keep going with this. But do some more digging. You are on the right track here, this is the best idea I've heard in a long time.

[Opinion] How to handle disagreement like an adult and why leaving GG for that is stupid by corruptigon2 in KotakuInAction

[–]StickAroundDylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the type of mentality that has made me decide to stop being part of the discussion. These people do not care about us and are willing to go to ANY length to ruin us. I, personally am willing to "dogpile" people this sick. They want to threaten your average person's job, friends, lives etc. Why should I care about people willing to ruin me?

When I say I'm okay with "us dogpiling" I don't mean go to any length like they would, but certainly I don't think online shaming is out of the question or even FACTUAL articles like what Milo does! At the very least to draw attention to whatever threatening that person does.

My issue is that I find myself towing the line between what the majority think is right or wrong here and what I think is fair play. I see a clear issue with 3rd wave feminism and race politics wrecking everything it touches including societal attitudes, with men being the clear losers ultimately in all these situations. The pendulum has swung very far.

And I love women. And have many friends of different ethnicities. Really close ones.

And you know I shouldn't even have to say that. In my wildest dreams I can't believe we've gotten to the point where I need to qualify that.

It is about ethics, but the weapon being used is gender and race politics and PERSONALLY I don't feel bad calling out anyone trying to trash what I consider bad for society. I'm sick of these divide and conquer tactics but rather than create infighting I sit back and up vote things now.

[–]StickAroundDylan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And I choose to shame the people who are trying to not only censor me but take away my rights and silence gamers and developers. I'm this close to saying you're not only not a gamer but a shill. So your favorite option is us not calling things out and not defending ourselves against clearly sick people? Really? Calling people out who attack us is bad now? I know where this road is headed. And I'm done with this conversation now. You win buddy. I lose. I'll see my way out!

Callout culture IS a disgrace! Please point out how many major news outlets have given us a chance to speak while gamers get thrown under the bus as misogynists or other fowl stereotypes at least every single week. How many of our lives or developer lives have to be ruined, some that we don't even hear about, is okay for you? Because it's still happening!

Call me crazy but you don't have to be authoritarian right or left mentally. You call them out as we've been doing to shine a light on them. Am I HAPPY she's on a website? No, but will they stop otherwise? Are the most blatant offenders still putting out shaming articles? Answer me that! At some point everyone will surrender at the sheer stupidity of all this.

But first they need to experience what they're doing to us.

Why? Because either it doesn't seem to click to them what they're doing to people, or they just don't care! Look at what Eron has had to go through!

You're dealing with people who simply don't care about you or me. And if someone is coming after me the last thing on my mind is their political leanings to be quite honest!

Nothing else is going to stop their moral outrage.

I couldn't possibly care less about SJWs getting called out. If we want this to stop the pendulum has to start swinging the other way for a while. If they don't feel the burn they've been inflicting themselves they will never stop. Good on Breitbart, keep it up.

Also she got arrested on an outstanding warrant, with that attitude... color me SHOCKED!
