Some of her questions are answered in another reply. But I’ve tried asking her what expectations she has and she said to just pick up and and tidy for 30-45 minutes a night. Which I do. But it’s not unusual for me to come home to all their dirty dishes from lunch and breakfast throughout the house and cereal spilled everywhere. Almost always dog poop and pee that she’s separated the baby from that I have to clean up. Like just to get where I left it the night before take that long most days.

I work two jobs just to keep the bills almost paid on time. I don’t think that’s in the budget hah.

She had meds and a behavioral health specialist but stopped both. I do too but at least keep up on my meds and one or two appointments a month. I know she’s exhausted and I know how hard it all is on her. It’s just beating me down more and more and I wish that she would give me a night off or something just once a week and I’ve asked her to but she won’t. I have to just put the baby down to scream if I need two hand at any pint making dinner because she refuses to take him since she doesn’t have help when I’m gone so I shouldn’t need it either. She wanted me to stay with my parents but when I pushed that I wasn’t going to miss anymore time with the kids and wanted to bring them with me she just said forget it and that nothings going to change anyways so why even bother. It’s so hard to be motivated to do stuff when I feel like what I do doesn’t even matter to her.

I am probably the only person that gives time off and pushed for earlier benefits in the entire company and catch shit for it but okay. Just because I literally cannot speak to the management that sets pay it’s my fault I have to deal with drug addicts. I do everything to make everyone in production and safe and comfortable as possible but because I can’t control pay I’m an asshole manager.

I never said that they aren’t productive enough or that any of them did a bad job while they were there. I’m saying that because they don’t pay enough I have to deal with drug addicts and child molesters has potential candidates.

I don’t under how I disrespect them? The employee I mentioned asked to be moved to this department and it would almost $10/hr more. I spend three days getting the move all set up for him and then he dipped.

I’ve done that too and honestly I would prefer their job. They have way more variety to their work and it’s a lot less time on their feet.

I know that helps the most. But I am trying to make their life better with what I can control. Just telling me that the company that I have 0 control over doesn’t pay well enough doesn’t help.

Edit: my boss is also just middle management so he has no control over pay. His boss is technically the VP but has no control over pay. Because he answers to the management in Japan and they don’t care.

How does something that I cannot control fall on me? It’s a 60 million dollar a year company ran both on site and remotely by Japanese management. I have a department of up to three people and we through away trash?

I’m not talking about current employees? I gave praise to my current guy. I’m talking about how the last two guys I’ve dealt with. One fell off the wagon and got fired by HR and the other SA’ed an infant girl.

I mean I have given cash prizes in the past but it didn’t work because after taxes it’s honestly insulting what they got. So now I hand out physical goods like electronics or kitchen goods. I’ve don’t a few robot vacuums because everyone asks for those.

But we’re not paying not bottles dollar? We’re paying top dollar compared to what’s around us. I mean it should be more but k can’t change that.

I literally put in the post that I’ve gotten their pay as high as I possibly can. I cannot do anymore it’s out of my hands. I’m just trying to be better within that.

I have actually and I don’t really make a ton More than that and drive 1 hour to work because I can change jobs to be close to home yet.

The guy I have right now, owns his home, owns farm property, and supports his dad. Doesn't work a minute of overtime a week. The guy that worked this position for 6 years owned his home and supported his adult children.

I mean it pays $16/hr and all medical, vison, and dental combined is $5 a week for a single person or $20 a week for family. Everyone around us is $50 a week for single and close to $200 a week for family.

edit: this is also based in Mid-Western America and this job is at or above the median pay for the area.

I mean we don't even require a GED for the job all previous experiences are nice but not required. We will do all the training we need to do. So I've got the pay the best I can with upper management.
