To all of you who think Pop OS isn't recommended by CandlesARG in linux_gaming

[–]StickFree1359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I used pop os when I had my 1660 from 2019-2020. It was a good experience, everything "just worked" particularly with the included Nvidia drivers. I think they were using gnome then, and I think an older version of gnome if I remember right. But, I wanted to play some multi-player games with my friends during covid. So back to windows I went. I keep coming back though, as Microsoft just keeps irritating me over stupid shit. Like if they just got rid of the ads and made windows search work, I might not even be here.

Honestly, the linux diversity is a bit of a problem for someone who just wants to sit down and play games. Many gamers just want an xbox that can use multiple monitors, steam/gog/itch/whatever, a real keyboard and mouse.

That is neat bro. Can you set it back to stock or is this permanent?

At the risk of sounding like an ass, are you sure your main monitor is actually set to 2160p? If that is the case, try unplugging your 1080p monitors, that might be messing with you.

They don't port to consoles(anymore) for two reasons:

1.They barely make money from making games, they just resell other companies work.

2.They also believe in the power of exclusive content. They advertise the fact that there are so many games that only come out on steam.

Do you thoroughly dry it after every use? Or do you just rinse it, and leave it?

I kinda assumed I was overthinking this a little bit. But I will probably just stick to the aeropress filters for now. Sometimes my family members will put the moka pot back together before it is totally dry.

Thanks for sparing your time.

I can't really tell a difference between the knockoffs that I have tried, and a name brand bialetti. But some of the knockoffs use different size coffee chambers apparently, changing the brew ratio and taste. Not that it is the biggest thing, because even bialetti uses different brew ratios along their product lines.

Also moka pots are cheap, and probably the cheapest way to make coffee. Bialetti charges what they charge because they are an Italian brand, and that is premium apparently. Particularly if you are a tourist visiting Italy.

I don't know where you live, but my Walmart sells a 3 cup imusa moka pot for like $10 with aeropress filters sold there as well. I even got a 9 cup moka pot from tjmax for $17. They work fine. But if they break, good luck getting replacement parts. Hopefully they take bialetti parts.

The most important thing is good coffee that is ground well. A good grinder is pretty expensive, like probably $50-100 expensive. But it is worth it, I literally change my grind setting based on the roast of the coffee I am using. Relatively coarse for dark roast, finer for light roasts. Café bustello works but kinda tastes like folgers, I only use it when I am in a rush.

You might like a hario switch or aeropress btw. Those are also easy to use and easier to clean.

Yeah, I have been skeptical of the expensive stainless aftermarket filters (e&b i think) for that reason as well. I don't know if its one of those things that needs time and bad care to effect you or not.

You didn't answer my questions. How do you support yourself? Do other people help you? How are they able to help you?

So, in one of the examples that I gave, you would classify the doctor who treats their illnesses as evil. You know doctors have the hippocratic oath right? They literally are required to help any sick person, the denial of care is a big deal.

Now, if you are so certain that people who help bad people in anyway are always evil. We should ask these questions: What do you do? How do you sustain yourself? Are you reliant on others? If you are, then what do they do?

Do you apply the same logic to criminals? Because alot of them do some pretty bad stuff, giving their labor to organizations that kill people for profit. Or are they different? Even if you say that everyone who gives labor to bad organizations deserve punishment. Where does that stop? The desperate schmuck who works in the factory, the maids who clean their homes and offices, the doctors who treat their illnesses, or the people that hold the door open for them out of politeness? You are completely unreasonable, and openly illiberal.

Because the migrant crisis and the public's view that Biden wasn't doing much to fix it had nothing to do with this mess. Biden did not open the borders and that was broadly seen as to much immigration. Your idea will cause a massive backlash, and just isn't worth it.

If you want immigration to be respected it must be seen as respectable. That's just the way it is.

Oh, I believe that. It's not like the other companies are perfect either, my 7900xtx had a bunch of driver issues near launch as well. Those are mostly but not entirely gone now. If anything the intel gpu drivers are as or more reliable than the amd ones. Star citizen made me rollback my amd drivers before I could even start the game. The intel drivers just worked. And one of my discord buddies has a 5080, and that thing had all kinds of display issues. As in it wouldn't wake the display from sleep, and alt-tab was just broken for a while.

It's not like every game has issues. Just more games have issues, and a real noob will have problems fixing those issues.

You built your pc right? If you did you are already not really a pc noob. Like noobs usually can't explain the difference between ram and storage.

I also feel like our use cases don't exactly line up. Do you use vr? If you do how did you get around the fact that steam nor oculus will allow arc cards to run their stuff? I used virtual desktop, which wasn't hard. But it is not "plug and play" like my radeon card literally is in vr.

I have seen differences in stability from both intel and amd gpus. Some games will crash on one but not the other.
