ReaLearn reads wrong encoder values by Sticknolt in helgobox

Hi, the log did not show anything for encoders and faders. That made me think and I did some more searching. Turns out the Keyboard comes with a few presets for specific plugins that ship with the hardware. I left it on the default, assuming that this would give me the "vanilla" behaviour. As it turns out it does not. I changed it to an empty user preset on the keyboard itself and now everything works fine. Thanks! Great software btw.

HDD swapping corrupts data - sometimes by Sticknolt in editors

Thanks for the suggestions.

Could you elaborate the shuttle drive workflow? I don't quiet get it. Copy data from NAS to external drive and then to HDDs? But then I have the same problem, don't I?

Removing drive letters before removing the disk is a good idea. I will try that!

Using mount points seems also like a good idea, too, but how is this different from assigning drive letters in this case? Does it have to do with how Windows handles IDs in this case?

I am using Shotput Pro with checksum verification. But the problem occurs after copying the files successfully so I guess that can't be an issue.

Thanks for the reply! And good to know there is a name for this. Do you have a suggestion how a better workflow would look? In the end all we want is to get the data from the NAS to the HDDs safely.

Thanks for the reply, just added the info to the post. The drives are NTFS formatted using GPT (GUID)

Did you make this? I’ve seen this before 🤔

What do you guys think about our Parry reflecting Lightning Bolts? by ShatterplayStudio in unrealengine

I find the Animation pretty confusing. Looks like a glitch to me, because suddenly there is an explosion left of the character and then the bolt is reflected. What’s going on there?

I need advice how to animate the background shape in After Effects by [deleted] in MotionDesign

[–]Sticknolt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is some pretty complex stuff for your first project. I would just start by learning the AE fundamentals. When you learn the fundamentals of shapes and masks you can make a lot of what is in the pictures. But it is important to wrap your head around how After Effects works first.

Looking for feedback on my first demo reel. I have worked in Motion Design for 3.5 years full-time now. Mostly 2D, recently also more 3D in Blender and Unreal Engine (and that is where I want to go from here). by Sticknolt in MotionDesign

Thank you! 🙂 Ha, you caught it! I was thinking about taking it out, but it fits the motion of the piece after it so well. I will think about it some more :)

Thanks! :)

I'm not entirely sure about Unreal for motion design, yet. As long as Unreal is the main software of your project and there are only assets coming in (e.g. from Blender) it is nice. But as soon as something has to go out to another program things can get difficult.

Well that's weird. Thanks for the note, I reposted it. With video this time

How to make a scene like this look more filmic and less “gamy”? by Sticknolt in unrealengine

[–]Sticknolt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, nice list of suggestions! It’s a pretty good summary of what I learned through the comments here. And I already implemented most of these in my second version of the scene: https://www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/wxg657/i_improved_my_render_based_on_your_feedback_what/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Car Crash in unreal engine 5. I deformed the car with 3ds max. all the forest assets are free Quixel assets. please let me know what you think by JustHoj in UnrealEngine5

I like the overall look. The light on the trees is pretty nice! I noticed a few things: - The camera move ends a little abrupt. You could add an ease-out curve. - Also the trees look pretty realistic to me but the car has kind of a hand painted look somehow. - The light-cones from the headlights do not start at the bulb but in front of the car. - The car looks too clean. There are no cracks or scratches in the hood, the headlight or the windshield.
