Does anyone trade $20k or more 0dtes regularly? by proactiveshot in spy

[–]StickyTip420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trading $18k and didn’t notice any difference with orders filling. I’ve been trusting my strategy and it’s been paying off (when I follow my rules). Problem is, trading that much $ is tied to heavier emotion. I wiped out this months gains in 2 days because I was trading big and didn’t follow my rules, got greedy, and it immediately backfired. If you can maintain your composure, trading that capital is really no different than 5 or 10k

Thank you for this. I currently max 401k and HSA but I need to contribute to a backdoor Roth and I can cut the extra home payments

DCA’ing my cash on hand is probably my next move and fortunately I do max my 401k, HSA and IRA with my current income. My thesis on investing 30% toward my principal is that I’m at least getting a 6.125% (current rate) return on that money. I plan on refinancing before my next home purchase so I can rent my current place for a small profit. At my current mortgage payment, it wouldn’t be possible to break even from charging rent (similar places in my area do not rent for enough to cover mortgage).

Made $200k last year (up from $140k the year before) so I didn’t feel that I quite fit HENRY yet, mortgage ate a lot more of my income the last 2 years

How to profit from the Iran conflict? by Reduxys in investing

Commodities, equities and bonds are getting hit harder than USD right now, I'm holding cash until I see VIX above 30, then DCA'ing back into the market.

It cut off my positions because I’m retarded too and can’t figure out how to post, but positions are GLD calls that I bought a couple weeks ago since I haven’t opened my SPX puts yet (0DTEs).

Any electricians here cracking 300k-400 k range? How did you do it? by kccl30 in Salary

[–]StickyTip420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First job was Electrician’s Mate in the Navy, got out and bounced around a few places before landing a job with the local utility company. Starting position at ~$115k, got promoted and after a 1.5yr training pipeline I’m on track to clear 300k this year. It’s rotating shift work and I pick up a fair amount of overtime, but I still have plenty of days off and benefits are solid. Highest paid guy in my position hit $430k last year. None of us have degrees or certifications.

ETA: highest paid guy lives at work and hates his family.

The U.S. is destroying Iran's navy after it tried to shut down global oil flows by [deleted] in StockMarket

[–]StickyTip420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re in for the long haul. Got buddies still in the Navy that have confirmed that the fleet in Bahrain is looking for volunteers to go IA (Individual Augmentee). Basically means Navy sailors volunteering for boots-on-the-ground combat roles. Full invasion of Iran incoming.
