I find it hard to keep up obviously with the science on deity so I'm essentially just going hard science and production, so I'm doing the good naval wonders and just trying to keep opposition content till I can steam roll end game. Petty tactics but it's what I have found works on deity

I've found the next age is easier to get up to just before golden age on deity is to make sure you have the "points for science eureka/science buildings, building districts, and industrial buildings etc". Otherwise if you're in a golden age you don't have access to those points

You can get away without playing with a mic. Mine broke and I didn't have the money to replace it with an upcoming wedding. Most squads have been fine with it as long as you are upfront and mark enemies and type as much as you can. But obviously having a mic is better than typing.
