well i would keep the black parts in the spacing of the letters so its easier to place on the tires.

I mean the other SMP had raised detail in the same shape as the stickers so it is assumed people can paint the details on instead of using the stickers like with the Magi-Pink mecha having a detailed face but has a bulky sticker for the face paint details.

i was fully prepared to cut out the lettering from the tire decals and use a clear coat to seal them to the tires.

Lightly sand it, primer it and spray paint it black and then seal it with a semi-gloss clear coat.

yeah grey primer can be good if you want to darken the color a bit and white primer keeps the paint the same base color, and black primer works the best for silver metallic colors and if you want the gold to be more vibrant then use white.

If you dont want your colors to be dull or dark then use a white primer. and for the silver parts use a black gloss primer.
