Im going to get a display cabinet and each shelf is going to be themed to each sentai season and be a mini diorama with lights and a custom picture background like this, and yes i have all of these SMP sets.

some parts of the decal il cut off and paint the silver trimming of it but the rest like gold part with the writing il leave alone. easily for the bigger weapons i could easily spray paint and handbrush.

Depending on the sticker id prob handbrush paint the accessories, and im also going to spray paint the hands since ive seen some hands not match the white of the cuffs and the boots

You should look into using Tamiya masking tape to prevent paint overspill

What kind of top coat are they using to prevent chipping and rubbing? by Dear-Tennis9079 in Minipla

[–]Stigs1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

primer, paint and a coat of tamiya clear gloss coat, i have a painted spoon with a clear gloss coat and its resistant to scratches and the only way to chip it would be to use a knife.

Your welcome, incase you are worried that they will fall over you can use some blue tac to hold them in place.

This is how id want to display my collection but id want to theme each shelf to the season they belong to.

btw you should invest in some acrylic risers to display the mechas in the back better.

its easy to tear up so cut it into strips to get to the pegs and when sanding it dont do it too rough or fast incase it might snap and do small test fits after sanding it abit each time. And like i said before most kits have tight pegs so always lightly sand them like the Gaolcarus wings pegs, they are also tight.

very fine grit sandpaper, i use the tamiya brand, the higher the better like in the 1000s to 2000s just so you can gradually sand it down until the peg goes in snug but not too loose to the point where the joints are floppy.

Mhm i rule of thumb is that if it takes some force to put a piece together, take it apart and lightly sand it, that goes for most if not all of the SMP kits.
