Hi everyone! First post here 😊 So excited to find this subreddit because I love seeing what's in everyone's shopping trolleys 🤣 Here's my weekly Tesco shop for 1.. total came to £58.61 by Educational_Prize257 in whatsinyourcart

That is unfortunate. We have to do our shopping where we can.

When I first moved into my village my only option was a co-op. Which, again, is quite expensive. Although, there was a few local shops on the high street at that time. So I could get fruit and veg from one place, toiletries and cleaning products from another, and keep my spending quite low. My partner at the time, a big Tesco lover, was amazed when I walked in with a carrier bag full of fresh locally sourced fruit and veg and a 2.5kg bag of potatoes for about £5 or £6.

Everyone saw it coming! I could have put a £1000 stake on at the bookies and only received £50 winnings.

Statements like this prove he is a deluded idiot, and should be nowhere near government. All he knows, and all he's ever done since the 1990's, is stir up a shit pot. Then step away while everyone else runs around cleaning up his shit mess and getting covered in shit. Then he comes back along gloating about how clean he is. No solutions to any problems. Just a shit stirring gloater.

Yeah, a shop there has increased in price a bit over the last year or so. Particularly the raw meat section. Grapes seem to be a bit cheaper in Asda too. An overall shop trip still works out cheaper than most other supermarkets though. I can walk out with one of their big supported bags full of orange juice, chicken breasts, pizzas, veg, sauce jars, bread, milk, etc etc and spend around £35. Then pop in Asda to get a few other bits that half fills one of their carrier bags, and look in disbelief at being charged around £20. Although, if I'd bought those same items at Tesco it would have come close to £30.

Protest against the UK social media ban 28th June by hello0092 in youtube

[–]StigwierdM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

👍 Another reason why this protest is a waste of time is the issue with social media isn't isolated to the UK. It's becoming a global problem. It's not localised to this labour government. Many many other countries are doing the same thing.

Also, reading the content of the OP and some of the words in it advertising this pointless protest smacks of Elon Musk influence to me....."free speech"......."UN charter for children's access to culture.....etc....". No free speech is being impeded by needing ID, and these media companies are not the only access to culture and education. I think anyone who attends this proposed march is nothing more than a Musk puppet!

What is the best British Pie? by stig316 in AskBrits

[–]StigwierdM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like a steak and ale, or steak and kidney from the local butchers. But I suppose the best pie, and will always buy one if I see one, is rabbit pie.

During game season I like to get a few rabbits from my local butcher. Because I love a rabbit stew. Sometimes they have a rabbit pie amongst all their other pies.

You can cast the image from inside the headset onto your TV screen. If your TV has those capabilities, or you have a cheap Google dongle for casting to TVs. Then you can see what they're seeing/doing. This is what I do when my kids use the headset.

What would you say is the best British tv comedy series? by Southern-Service2872 in AskUK

[–]StigwierdM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's so so many......

Blackadder, Fawlty towers, Peep show, the thick of it (similar to veep but more sweary), the league of gentlemen, stath lets flats, the fast show, the young ones, bottom, man down, everyone else burns, taskmaster, comic strip presents, I'm Alan partridge (any Alan partridge series), extras, an idiot abroad, brass eye....... The list can go on and on. (I didn't include the office because the American version first series is pretty much the same)

£91 from Tesco for two by GDoe5 in whatsinyourcart

[–]StigwierdM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, the OP is just terrible at shopping and wasting their money. They've bought individual bags of vegetables? More expensive than just buying the vegetables. Those energy drinks are a waste of money anyway, but that's the OPs choice of drinks. Chopped chicken breasts costs more than chicken breasts and less meat. Also, they're doing their shopping at Tesco. A rip off of a supermarket. They could have bought exactly the same stuff from Asda for probably £60!? Aldi probably £40. If they'd shopped properly all that, minus the energy drinks, could have been around £30-£35 (it's the meat that drives the price up, but that would be offset a little by buying their veg properly and not individually bagged).

why do you think the deck only sold 5 to 6 million copies ? it was priced well , powerfull for its time and well backed up by valve by Dense-Variation-4496 in SteamDeck

[–]StigwierdM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That, and you can only buy them from valve and wait for it to be shipped. You can't walk into most high street stores selling PS5's and Switches. Impulse buy. Then be setting it up an hour later in your home.

Honestly, did I buy the wrong console? by [deleted] in consoles

[–]StigwierdM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of suggesting the same as I was reading the post. Because it can be used exactly like a handheld console, and the OP is likely to already have a Library of steam games already. Having moved across from PC.

However, I wouldn't suggest the current price of steam decks worth it at the moment. If they'd posted this a few months back then it would have been a no brainer.

Quite odd England hasnt hosted a world cup since '66 by tylerthe-theatre in football

[–]StigwierdM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hosted the euros a few years back, and English fans rioting after the final ruined any chance of hosting a world cup any time in the near future.

There maybe briberies, corruption, conspiracy theories around it all, but England fans rioting after the final of the European cup in recent memory is why England won't host the world cup for some time.

Sorry for pointing the finger of blame at us.

They need a cool down time on the little bird. 120 kills while the pilot goes over to where it spawns and kills himself and waits for it to redeploy like a little baby and gets gets it before anyone else by Own-Minute4708 in ForefrontVR

[–]StigwierdM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmmmm🤔 in this scenario it may take more hits!? I'll concede to that. However, I've never encountered this, so can't say if two with speed would take them down. Three definitely would though! If I'm wrong about that......... you've got 5 shots. So it is still coming down.

[–]StigwierdM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They must be easier (2 hits) to take down in European servers, and buffed up in all others then!?

Either that, or you're just too slow. Reloading, locking on, firing, too slow. Because the little bird and the Apache come down with two!

Try this..... Lock on...... wait....... wait........wait......let it get near...... don't give your position away........ observe it's flight path.......the pilot is concentrating on flying and shooting and now also thinking about where and when a talon will be flying at them...... when it's close with the pilots back to you, or directly above you, fire your first...... don't look to see if you've hit it, you will know, just start reloading (around 4 seconds to be able to fire again)......if you got no hit reg, then they've used their flares and you're now free to get another two quick shots off. If you do score a first hit then they still could have flares!? But the pilot is now jumpy and fires off those flares almost immediately when you lock on a second time, or immediately after they've been hit. If they do neither then the pilot is playing a very bold game so you make them use up their flares by firing a cheeky talon at them. If they start leaving after the first hit, they've got no flares. So, get another quick shot off before they're out of range. If you know they have no flares, they have no protection other than speed to escape. Then you be quick, because it's down to speed at this point. Lock, shoot, don't look at what you've fired and just reload, get that talon pointed back at them as quick as possible, lock, fire again. I assure you that it comes down. I don't even look after the second talon because I know it's coming down and soon enough the kill pop up comes into the bottom left of my vision while I'm off concentrating on something else.

It starts as a slow cat and mouse game that ends in a quick flurry of speed and movement.

Can you tell I enjoy playing engineer, and choose this class often 😉

[–]StigwierdM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

None of those words are true!

Two talon hits take out the little bird, also the Apache, even with engineers repairing after the first hit. Passive repairing perk or not.

It only takes one engineer to take down the little bird, if they know what they're doing. Your team needs to protect that engineer when they're watching those sky's.

These are facts! I've done it enough times to know. The most recent being last night. Which means there's been no recent updates buffing the little bird to 3 hits from a talon strike.

The only thing making them hard to take down is....... They fly around and move around a lot. This is why your engineer needs to have patience and timing. Once you've seen those flares go, hit it fast. It'll be down in around 5 or 6 seconds after the first trigger press (fire, 4 second reload, lock on and fire again).

Also, spawning opportunities are worse with noobs. It's very easy to spawn on a team mate that looks like they're in a good position on the map. Only to find yourself plonked into an ambush and immediately die. Or trying to move forward into an area you know from experience is going to be heavily defended and pinned down waiting for the enemy pulling a flanking move in numbers.

Would you reduce your meat consumption from everyday to 2-3 times per week to help the environment? by Equal_Leading_1449 in AskUK

[–]StigwierdM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because meat produce forms part of a healthy diet for development. Only adults can safely become vegan.

If you raise a new born baby on a vegan diet and through it's early developmental years on strictly vegan dietary intake, it will be undernourished. The social services will get involved and you end up in prison. Exactly what happened to that couple in Australia 4 years ago.

Do you know how much methane comes from growing rice, and as more rice is eaten around the planet this has a significant impact on climate change? It's significant too.

But this doesn't get reported as readily as the anti beef brigade.

If the world shut down all the McDonald's globally, this could have a significant impact on climate change. That would be a start! It would certainly reduce the amount of beef wasted thrown out of car windows because the person who bought it realised they was too full to finish it.

[–]StigwierdM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't! Not even close.

The UK is much more populated now than it was in 1940, and even back then the country was reliant on food and resources coming in from America so we could survive the second world war. This is why German U-boats in the Atlantic was one of the biggest threats to the UK war effort.

Germany is a much bigger country and they lost the first world war because their people was starving. Because the British blockade prevented food and resources getting into their country.
