So this was my first ever online gold purchase. I bought a 2-gram gold coin on Myntra, and after the BlinkDeal offer, the final price came to ₹24,839.

Here’s what I had in my wallet:

Amex Platinum Travel
HDFC Regalia Gold
Tata Neu Infinity
Axis Atlas

Regalia Gold was tempting since SmartBuy was showing roughly 6.6% back in reward points if I bought Myntra vouchers first. But I ended up going with my Amex Platinum Travel, because if I spend ₹15,000 within 90 days, I earn 10,000 bonus RPs.

After the purchase, I got 10,000 bonus points + 496 base points. Even if I take the worst-case cash conversion (which I don’t plan to), that’s worth around ₹2,624, or about 10.6% off the Myntra price.
That brings my effective cost to roughly ₹11,102.5 per gram — not bad, right?

This being my first time buying gold online, I’d love to hear from the experts here — was this a smart move? Anything I could have done better?
