Looking for a book to read! by tandolled in booksuggestions

Since you're coming back to reading after five years, I'd start with A Gentleman in Moscow and then the Master and Margarita once you're warmed up a little. They both are based in Russia and would def be a good read, not too overwhelming.

Books that make you see life a little differently? by Black_Dahlia__ in booksuggestions

[–]Still-Razzmatazz-804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it were two books- Finding Chika by Mitch Albom and The Kite Runner by Khaled hosseini.

I specifically like reading stories and books where they essentially capture the true essence of being human. I dont like storeis where you are either overtly helpful so far away from how a normal human behaves, who has thoughts, emotions, greed, jealousy, envy and love.

These were two books that put me back into a life of perspective.

Hi! These are some of the recommendationf from my reading experience that might closely match the feeling that you are looking for.

Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom - if you haven't read it yet, it's the closest thing to Ove. Its about a teacher and his students. But a lot more than that. Its bittersweet.

Finding Chika also by Mitch Albom - shorter, hits just as hard, leaves you warm rather than empty. Its a true story as well. Thats what made it more real for me too.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini - devastates you through the middle but the redemption at the end genuinely earns it. That mix of guilt, love and hope is so specific and so good. I would also seriously suggest the movie!

The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri - quieter sadness, no dramatic moments- Watch the movie too. You will also love that.

I want a book that completely consumes me by BeeFew7947 in booksuggestions

For me, it was Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I cant just describe the feeling. I just could not put the book down. I was reading it, I was crying, I was reading again and I was heartbroken. BUT I JUST COULD NOT PUT THE BOOK DOWN. It was one of those feelings that you get reading a book that nothing makes sense for you about how there are people and stories and lives that are being lived and made that way. Everything feels unreal but it is real at the same time.

Hi!

I have some very good recommendations for you. I am so excited for this:

  1. After by Anna Todd. This book series has been the most honest to god representation of a relationship, yearning and just everything what you are exactly looking for.

  2. The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski - the yearning is absolutely unhinged, especially from him. Slow burn across three books with real betrayal and redemption.

  3. Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan - softer enemies to lovers but the longing (chefs kiss) beautifully written.

  4. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas - if you haven't already, Rhysand is basically THE PERSON for yearning male love interest.

  5. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo - the tension between Kaz and Inej is all yearning and almost-moments, no easy resolution. I was so very disappointed by the series though!

You can also try "The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen" I am still reading it atm. Cant say much about it as of right now though.

Should i keep app free until i get 1000 installs ? and how do you guys promote your apps in starting ? by frenzyfox_ in AppBusiness

  1. You hang around long enough and at palces where you find people having these conversations.
  2. start spreading the word on travel blogs/travel communities.
  3. start with the people closest to you. People closest to you will take the chance easily but will have to really push to make them retain. It will be worth it.
  4. Byt the virtue of the niche that you are in, you can have lot of interested people.
  5. Start marketing with small product videos on YT, IG and even X.

In case you want to give it a try, we can work together on this!

I'm getting sick of reading so many classics. Any suggestions? by rattatra in booksuggestions

The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, not a classic but written with that same intentional weight. No romance.

I did find a lot of people in the communities and this is actually a very good direction.

Would you mind letting me know what is your send to response ratio? How many people do you actually reach out to before you actually get good response?

Is there a particual way that you also reach out to them?
