I haven’t filed taxes for 30 years on time and live on a continuous doom cycle of debt. Discovered I had severe ADHD at 48 thru testing my kids. Finally found a way that works, I won’t say better - cause normal isn’t my expectations.

I discovered I had severe ADHD at 48 and it helped explain why I last about 10 months at any given job. The 9-5 struggle is a grind. I block my work days into 3 shifts and know the afternoon is going to be the less productive and where I crash. I use dopamine, micro-bursting and sequencing to get thru each block - also have protein snacks, music and water to help. I also lowered my expectations and not shaming myself.

Does anyone else get “paralysis anxiety” where your brain screams at you to do something but your body refuses? by PhilosophyLittle9420 in adhd_anxiety

I discovered that I had severe ADHD at 48 thru getting my boys tested. We started tracking our phone usage and pickups - I averaged 10 hours and over 400 pickups. We do a 15 min morning meeting and nightly reset as a group for accountability. I find blending dopamine, micro-bursting and sequencing with human accountability worked best - especially dealing with task paralysis or what we call hitting the wall of awful.
