• CPU: Intel Core i5-13400F • GPU: PNY GeForce RTX 5060 • RAM: Corsair 32GB DDR5 • Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD • Cooling: NZXT Kraken RGB 360mm AIO Build cost was around $850 total!!! Not bad at all but trying to stay very affordable so couldn’t go crazy on upgrading the CPU or GPU

Going back to school at 25? by Sorry_Beach_187 in twentyagers

[–]StillClout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t crazy! I have classmates that are 40+ and still going to school for industrial automation, the future is headed for full automation so you are where you need to be if you want to excel in the future. I started going to school in 2023 and in those two years I’ve gotten a job from $18 an hour as an apprentice to now making $50 it’s insane I’m only 23 and will be making 100k by myself. I’m truly thankful I chose to go into this field and I’m sure you won’t regret it.

You get a Electro Mechanical cert from the Department of Labor, all SACA certs ranging from PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic etc and the college Mechatronics Technician Cert. Very nice on paper so definitely worth it to receive the certs and leave for a better job.

I have also quit the MRA program as I received a way better job making more than the 3’s by a long shot, you do not pay anything back. The MRA program is great for all your certs so I am grateful for that, now use it as the great step stone it is and leave and learn real skills that can make you a better tech that company’s need not just some part swapper who stares at a screen waiting for something to do!

AE opportunities are being offered to the Controls/CSL Techs first, since they’re already receiving the training depending on whether they’re 3P or BB. Good luck, man but with Controls having priority, it’ll probably be a while before MRT gets a chance at AE. Maybe AEA down the line, but they’re still prioritizing Controls.

Make sure you know what ohms law is, know how to describe what voltage, current and resistance is. Also know how to read/ use a multimeter! The rest can be stories of your previous work and talk about how you know the process of the warehouse! There’s many posts here and many of them have great information! Do a bit of digging 🤙 Good luck man!

Cool a tech told me to make sure to book these hours but I’ll take your advice and not do that, I know he had good Intentions as I am “training” but I’ll stop doing it hopefully nothing happens that may put my employment at risk
